I made a purchase on gun broker just a couple days ago and am paying the dude with a certified check or money order.

What is the cheapest route to go for these? I assume a post office would probably be one of the more expensive routes but I'm unsure.

Any help is appreciated.

How much is it for?

ETA: The reason why I ask is anything over $1,000 has to a cashier's check or separate money orders. A money order at Western Union is like 40 cents.

What about just doing a bank transfer from your account to his? That way you have a receipt of the money changing hands.

That's how I bought the old ladys engagement ring and will do all future large purchases the same.

Six one way half dozen the other. I always use money orders from a grocery store or wherever is closest when I need one.

Get a money order from a check cashing place. They only charge like 30 cents and banks charge $5

What about cashier's checks? How do those measure up to the two mentioned? I don't know the answer.
