it's my 22nd anniversary today and while it hasn't all been roses, it's stood the test of time for sure.

3 great kids ... 3 moves across the state ... job changes ... medical issues ... we're still here!

Just want to put that out there for those who are skeptics ...

That's awesome.

I have 2 guys probably your age that have been mentoring me and we meet regularly. Marriage was always pretty good but it's been incredible the last 6 months since I started putting additional (and intentional) effort into other aspects of my marriage.

Eta: They are probably your husband's age.

Congrats! I hit 25 next month, my belief is everything worth something requires a little work every now and then.

the only people who hate marriage are

1) bitter people who married the wrong person
2) bitter people who are trying to convince themselves that they happier alone

Congrats.

I don't think it sucks at this point in time. Always keep your head on a swivel for impending crap.

What I do find are the people that are most unhappy are the ones that had shitty relationships and hated their SO.

Of course they're going to say marriage is terrible.

Not a skeptic at all...just past 18 a few weeks ago. Seems like yesterday...happier today than I was then. It's not for everyone...unfortunately too many realize this AFTER getting married.

Marriage is what you make of it. Chose a good woman and treat her and your future kids like gold.
13 years for me and I couldn't be happier.
