This is one of the reasons prosecutors cut the deal. The others were that Stallworth accepted responsibility, that he paid the family a chunk of caish and that he had no priors.

quote:

In this case, Reyes allegedly was jaywalking at the time he was hit and killed by Stallworth. If Reyes was jaywalking, it could be argued he contributed to the accident. In addition, Stallworth claimed to have flashed his lights and honked his horn at Reyes, which is being interpreted by Stallworth's side as a way of warning Reyes to get out of the way.

his teammate willingly got in that car, the burden is upon both of them

I would say this is fair if brent has never had any run ins with the law

And yet so many on this board can't, pretty amazing.

As i said before Stallworth would have likely hit that guy sober. Brent killed his passenger after allegedly consuming 17 alcoholic drinks.

Dude, he had alcohol in his system, killed a man, and got 30 days. Think before you talk.

You know as well as I that if it was you or me, we would still be in jail.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I agree with only 180 days but there is a big difference between killing the person who willingly got in the car with you and a random victim.

wasn't the guy who was killed hammered too? If I recall correctly, she just accepted her son was just as much at fault as Brent was and probably would have died if he had driven instead or something like that.
Would her son have left the scene of the accident, with Brent still alive inside the car and pleading for help?. . . Because, if memory serves, that's what Brent did.

Brent didn't leave

I want this guy to serve more time as much as the next guy, but he will have a genuinely miserable life for the remainder of his years. It's going to be a bad "sentence."

Maybe. He will most likely get over this with time and he has millions of dollars, there is a great chance he will be happy again one day. Now if he was locked up like he should be he wouldn't have that chance but he does have it now.

How much money died he really have left? I'm sure for now yes, he has some money, but the statistics of pro athletes handling their money are really going against him, and he doesn't have any skills other than football
