Posted by BottomlandBrew I did not like that one at all. Turd of a LOF. Seems LOFs are either turds or homeruns.

Completely agree.

Needless to say...I've had better times. But old SD12 always bounces back.

FBD - Crooked Stave Hop Savant. I'm probably in the minority here but this is the 3rd or 4th brew I've had from these guys and I haven't had one yet that really did it for me. Just funky sour cheese flavor and an underwhelming nose.

This is long, but I can't decide, so I need help. My kids are over at a friends for a couple of hours tonight. My wife and I will go downtown to have a couple of brews, instead of staying in the burbs where our options are limited. The dilema...

Option 1: Tap Takever by Breakside at NWIPA Taproom

The lineup is this:
Taster #1
Breakside IPA
Hop Burst
Danky Doodle
Safe Word IIIPA

Taster #2
Wanderlust
Outerland
Thoroughly Modern
Trinidad Scorpian IIPA

Y'all probably haven't heard of most of these, but that's OK, neither have I. I just know that Breakside makes a righteous IPA, and their Safe Word is amazing.

Option 2: Belmont Station is having their Bigger, Badder, Blacker week. The emphasis is on black beers and on tap are:

Ecliptic Spica HefePils*
Alameda Yellow Wolves of Thailand*
Uinta Sea Legs Baltic Porter*
Ecliptic Filament Winter IPA*
Boulevard Imperial Stout
Russian River Blind Pig IPA
Full Sail Black Gold Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (2011)
Full Sail Top Sail Imperial Porter (2012)
Full Sail Imperial Stout Bourbon Barrel Aged (2013)
Cascade Lakes Deep Space 90 Imperial Stout*
Deschutes Black Butte XXIII Imperial Porter
North Coast Brother Thelonious
Block 15 Super Nebula
Lagunitas Barrel-Aged Cappuccino Stout
Gigantic Bang On!*
North Coast Old Stock Strong Ale
Mad River 24th Anniversary Belgian Quad*
North Coast Old Rasputin XV
Anchorage Galaxy White IPA
Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge (2010)
Square Mile Spur & Vine Hopped Cider*
Hale's SuperGoose IPA (Cask)
Harvester Gluten-Free IPA #3

Option 3: Finally, my wife would like to try Cascade. No special event, but the tap list right now looks incredible:

Tap #1: Portland Ale
Tap #2: Copper Hopper
Tap #3: Cascade IPA
Tap #4: Dark Day CDA
Tap #5: Oblique B&W Coffee Stout
Tap #6: DIESEL ( BA Impy Stout)
Tap #7: Raspberry Wheat
Tap #8: Summer Gose
Tap #9: Strawberry
Tap #10: Vine
Tap #11: Apricot
Tap #12: Figaro
Tap #13: Blueberry (13)
Tap #14: Kriek
Tap #15: Sang Noir
Tap #16: Bourbonic Plague

With cask beers being Blueberry Espresso and Cinnamon Chocolate Truffle.

I am torn. I really want to try the Breakside beers, as most are one-offs. The BBB week at Belmont is great, but I think I'll see most of those beers again. Cascade will probably have the same tap list for the next couple of weeks, with maybe a couple of them changing... Cascade's food is the best of all three options.

Thoughts?
