Go on a rainy Saturday or Sunday. DPW still be there to take people out, but you'll sit in the van for a few hours, then they will let you go early

Make the best of it, there are plenty of people who made mistakes just like you. You'll be surprised who you'll see that you know.

The only thing I can imagine that sucks about litter detail is it's boring and it would suck in the summer. Do it ASAP before it gets hot.

I'm supposed to do 16 hrs so I'm guessing that's 2 days of pickup, or do they just sign off all your hours after 1 day?

Bro frick picking up litter for 8 hours a day. Go find something g else to do. Work at an animal shelter or a food kitchen. With the cold weather this weekend I'm sure all the homeless shelters and such are going to need some help.

Not biting huh?

I'm just messing with you. Man up and handle your business. No need to complain or try and wiggle out of your responsibility. After all, that's what they are trying to teach you.

What Parish?

In LaFourche you have to do whatever the judge tells you. Its not like it use to be where you find someone and they sign hours of service for you. I had it one time in Terrebonne. I got to go to the rifle range and clean up after a wedding. Jelly gave me 10 hours. Then I went to the East Park Rec Center, put some chairs out for a wedding and got 8 hours.

If he got a DWI, a first offense requires 32 hours of service, 16 of which has to be trash pick up. It technically starts at 6 and ends at 2, but after lunch, you're pretty much done.

Like I said, go when it is 100% chance of rain haha

FYI, I'm not trying to down play the seriousness of a DWI. But I think any reasonable person would recognize that most people who are arrested for that crime are everyday citizens who made a mistake and got caught. With the increase in police patrols specifically designed to catch drinking and driving, more and more citizens are caught up in the money printing scheme, and out on a Sat morning picking up trash haha.

Yet I pull up to an intersection on college drive and still see THOUSANDS of cigarette butts.

On second thought, go this Saturday, freeze your arse off and clean up our streets.

Had to do 2 days back in 06 in St. Tammany. The official in charge took us to some rural roads. Seemed like he had friends that lived in the areas cause he was talking to several home owners at both places.

They usually reserve the interstate trash picking for inmates and use the "court ordered" volunteers for smaller, "less visible/embarrassing" jobs.

Suck it up, buttercup. It's easy work. You did the crime, now pay the time.

One of my buddies had litter detail a few years ago after the LSU - UF tebow crying game and had to report for litter duty the next day at 8AM. He said it was worse than getting the original DUI. The prices you pay for a solid lsu win

It's really not bad just bring head phones and get in the van with the veterans.
