Sanders is averaging 6/6 with 1.8 blocks
That's awful
shite they put John Henson into the same role Sanders was in last year and he outperformed Sanders by a mile
I have a feeling Sanders is going to be making a lot of money off of one decent season, until people eventually catch on that he is nothing special
And I don't want Mayo within a mile of this organization. Why trade one shithead SG for another shithead SG?
And we want to trade him for OJ fricking Mayo?
no thanks

Evans was fricking horrible his first twenty games this season

Sanders would have to be packaged with Mayo for us sending them Gordon to work. Don't know how this poison pill thing works, however.

The whole team is a mess right now and they're clearly in full blown tank mode. Can't really hold it against Sanders that he's not giving it his all right now. I'm a big fan of his still, but that we're not going to have him in the lineup to finish games gives me some pause if they ask for Reke. If they want Gordon, do it.

As fast as those small ball implementation came, that bull is leaving just as fast. I can't believe the fan base ate the cheese and actually believed that sales pitch. I don't know what's scarier here, the fan base buying into it or the staff actually believed in that nonsense.
I don't see anything that's changed. Gordon has always been said to be on the trade block for years now, and I'm sure the Front Office was never set on Jason Smith as the starting Center. The only reason people think something has changed is because of the "Tyreke is available" rumblings, which is because of the "only Jrue and Anthony are untouchable" comments. But anybody who's followed the team probably could have told you that.

Evans is also on the block if what we're hearing is true. That small ball line up and the center position being dead was clearly nonsense and pretty much set this team back due to the negligence of both the 3 and the 5. Not to mention their reluctance in bringing Ina a true quality vet. Take the Cavs for example. They were in disarray due to their youth and negligence in their biggest need at the SF position. Since they landed Deng, they're a completely different ball club.

The camera data from his breakout year says he was awesome, that's not just some useless advanced stat created by a math nerd for other math nerds to geek out with, this is actual break down of game footage and comparing players across the league.
quote:
Sanders and the Indiana Pacers' Roy Hibbert each held opponents to a league-low 38 percent on shots inside 5 feet, which is nearly way worse than the 49.7 percent the league shoots from that distance with somebody in the neighborhood on average. He also allowed the lowest field-goal percentage (34.9 percent) when within 5 feet of an opponent's shot, which, again, is way worse than the 45.6 percent the league shot on average with a qualifying defender that close.
LINK
My main question with Sanders isn't whether he can still protect the rim, it's whether another skinny rim protector solves our defensive problems.

Sanders has played 15 injury riddled games this year
That's point about Evans. All of the morons wanted to crucify him after a shaky start.
Of course ideally you want to trade Gordon if the bucks bite on that package. I'd say they probably ask for more (Evans). With the recent rumors of both being on the block, do you sacrifice one of your navy ball dominant guards in exchange for a elite defender/rebounder (your opinion nonwithstanding)?

Like I said, Evans being "on the block" comes from the comment from an anonymous Front Office source saying that only Davis and Jrue are untouchable. I don't take that as everyone else on the roster being on the trading block. I take that as if a team is willing to be together a good enough offer, then a trade can be discussed. I don't think anyone expected this team to make a deep playoff run this year, so until Gordon is moved, you can't really say that we have ignored certain positions just because we aren't able to address it in one season.
As far as Deng and the Cavs, we'll see if they can/are willing to sign him after this year for "at least Josh Smith money", or if he will be a one year rental.

In a vaccum, all things being equal, you take the big man
I'm just not sure on Sanders. Maybe I'm wrong, but I dunno. I think we got a good thing going with Reek, and we are going to have a REALLY hard time scoring points if we trade him and Gordon for Sanders and Mayo's worthless arse

I'd be pretty reluctant to trade Tyreke for that pair also. Not only is Tyreke a better fit with Mayo because he can play some minutes at SF, but Tyreke is one of the few players we have that can make something happen when the defense tries to stop him. That would be a very tough call. I think Milwaukee is probably more desperate to salvage something out of 2 malcontents than we are to take a risk on them, so the leverage is in our favor. I'd probably walk away and hope they called back settling for Gordon rather than give in to a demand of Tyreke instead of Gordon.

Mayo has been proven to be a good scorer but I don't really care about acquiring him. He wouldn't accept his role on this team either
If Gordon is shipped out and Mayo is coming back, I would think that he would be in the starting lineup. Can't send out a lineup of Holiday, Evans, Aminu, Davis, and Sanders. The spacing on that lineup would be horrendous, as Holiday is the only player on that team that could shoot a 3.

Meh
I see what you're saying but I think he is a notch above the "skinny" label
Bref has sanders at 6'11" 235
They have dwight at 6'11" 240
Ben Wallace 6'9" 240
Noah 6'11" 232
Henson is at 6'11" 220
Now those could be off give or take. But what Sanders lacks in girth he makes up for w length I think.
Fwiw in the 5 games in which sanders got 30+ mpg this season, he's averaging 11/9/3 with a 55% FG. He's only played in 15

Sanders would definitely be an interesting pairing with Davis. I think it could work.
The thing with Sanders is that he's under contract for a lonnnnggg time at 11 million per.
If he reverts back to where he was and even takes a step forward playing with Davis, then its a good contract.
If he never gets healthy, and his previous stats were a mirage, we would be f'd.
I don't know. Its definitely an interesting thought. I wouldn't be too thrilled with getting Mayo.

I haven't really watched Sanders much at all maybe a few highlights videos here and there so I don't really know how he plays
I just hear about the guy and assume he will be good since he was invited to that USA basketball camp before the season
We don't need an AllStar at center we need someone to compliment AD so the question for those who watch him and for Dell and Monty is Sanders the best and most attainable fit for Davis in the front court?
Which makes me revisit the question if I see him as a long term 4 or a long term 5 and still I am unsure

Agreed. Would not even consider trading Evans for them. Gordon, sure, it's a gamble for both sides.

The thing with Sanders is he doesn't need the ball. He'll get garbage points off of put backs or oops.
If we got him we would basically getting an NBA ready nerlens Noel. He fits great w Davis IMO. Teams will think twice about driving the lane. They are long and nimble enough to defend the P&R. And down the road you always have Withey as the meat and potatoes big that you may need.
As good has Evans has been, you have to think hard if he's the piece that nets you big you need to take the next step

From what I know Nerlens is a good comparison in terms of length and size and I'm assuming their skill isn't very far off...if that's the case I'm turning more towards the Sanders to Nola camp
But I would rather trade Gordon...I love Reke dude can't shoot but I love him

I really don't like the idea of trading a guy you just acquired as your big FA a few months ago. It is a cold business and these things happen, but it also looks bad.
Even though Tyreke can't shoot for shite, I'd much rather move Gordon.

Nerlens has all the same downsides, but is much lighter, and a nice knee injury to help.
I've watched a bunch of Sanders, and I just don't see it. He's not exactly having to fight for rebounds on the Bucks, and he can't shoot. His amazing season he only played about 27 minutes a game because he can't shoot a free throw.
If it's just shipping Gordon out for Sanders, sure, I'll take a chance on him. But if it's Sanders and Mayo, and the $19 million along with them, that would be crippling IMO.
