@ProFootballTalk: Belichick on Welker's hit on Talib: "It's one of the worst plays I've seen."

@DanWetzel: RT @MikeReiss: Bill Belichick: "It was a deliberate play by the receiver to take out Aqib. No attempt to get open."

Really Bill? You would think he would know Welker well enough to make a fair judgement on his intent. Here's the link, judge for yourself

It's true. Go back and watch the play. Clear intention to hit him on a rub route, but he takes it to another level when he basically goes to block him and lights him up.

Couldn't happen to a better couple guys in talib and belichick. I don't want anyone to get hurt, but it's hard to have too much sympathy for a turd like talib.

Yes he would.

But he obviously wouldn't admit to it if he did what Belichick was claiming.

Belichick is a sore loser. Give me a break, Bill:

Talib probably got called for pass interference on the play.

it was pretty bad... worse than most pick plays you see with WRs. If it happened to one of my defenders, i'd be pissed too.

It was deliberate to block him but I don't think it was deliberate to hurt him. He didn't go low or lead with his helmet. It was a body block that unfortunately hurt Talib.

Let me cry a river for Aqib Talib and Bill Belichick.

Eh... Welker definitely put something "extra" into that "block".

My feelings too. Part of me wants to say "that's not right," but then I see belichick and talib on the other side and think "meh."

This. I'm not buying they'd send fricking Welker as a hitman.

Define "extra". Football is a violent sport, & if you're saying Welker ran a little faster or put more force into the block well that's football.

Holy crap Welker barely even hit him. It barely even knocked Talib off balance

1. It was legal.

2. Welker's shoulder crashed into Talib's armpit.
