Not enough of things going boom for some people

I don't understand that thinking either. We got a shite ton if backstory with this episode. The cinematography is excellent. Like someone said earlier, I wish I could marathon the entire season.
Looks around for glass......
Omg dem tittys.

I bet the people saying this are the ones who are mouth breathers and enjoy reality TV. Heck, I'm having to rewatch each episode so I can take in all the nitty-gritty details.
As for Rustin Cohle, he said he was owed a few then somehow ended up in Louisiana.
I still don't like how they are drinking Lone Star in Louisiana.

My point is that the whole titty thing works with the show. It isn't just gratutious. When they show them there is an entire page of posting like it is being done by 12 year olds.
Is she a stunningly good looking woaman with a great body? Yes, yes she is.

You're right, that entire scene had the same gritty tone the entire show has. Marty is becoming more and more smarmy.

I got the impression that Marty's wife knows he is fricking around, right?

I strongly assume this considering the scene with her mother on the back porch as well as the argument in the kitchen.
In the previews do we see her cheating or is that Cohle?

That's the impression I got. I think she and Rust are going to have an affair.

I tried Marty's rationalization that sometimes a man just needs a release before he comes home to my wife last night.
It didn't go over to well.

I hope not, that would suck IMO

Agreed.
Would just be lazy writing.

I get the feeling she is a deeper person than Marty and that's what will bring her and Rust together, maybe not physically but emotionally. Tortured souls leaning on each other. It would not bother me if her and Rust hooking up was the reason for the fallout between him and Marty.

the only negative thing that could be said for this episode is that it focused a little too much on character backstory and not enough on the killing/investigation.

So many people don't understand that this show isn't about the murder/investigation.
It's about Marty and Rust. The investigation is just what's being used to tell their stories

I think some of y'all are going to need to accept that the real story is the characters themselves, and not so much the investigation

This would be my guess
Like maybe being around Marty's wife and kids is a release from his "torment" or something
I just feel like Rust isn't really interested in sex

that the telling can so handily outdo the showing.
This guys review sounds like he wants a bunch if Michael Bay explosions but mainly sounds like he's got Louisiana fatigue.

He really isn't interested in other people at all

He's basically bashing the show because he can't grasp what it's setting out to do. It's laughable how bad he missed the point
