Hotel Indigo is nice in Nola, how bad can it be in BR

Oddly, the Renaissance in BR is way nicer than the Renaissance in Nola.. learned that last week when I stayed at the one in Nola and it was pretty run-of-the-mill.. while the one in BR is pretty.

As a side note to whomever mentioned the Hilton, The Louisiana Marathon had a BIG block of rooms there ... the marathon and half are this Sunday.

About a week or so ago (maybe 2) some participants who booked in the block got emails saying that their res had been moved to like somewhere off of Corporate Blvd. The point of staying at the host hotel is to be able to walk to the start and back to the hotel at the finish.

Now Hilton is doing renovations ... how do you kick out a section of a big block that has been reserved for I would assume at least since last year at this time???

Lucky for me I was already at Hotel Indigo.

Hotel Indigo and the Hilton downtown are two of the nicest hotels in BR. I haven't seen the L'Auberge though...

Like others here, I didn't stay at Indigo BR, I stayed at Indigo in Houston (Galleria). Very nice, modern, and excellent service.

Here is an interesting fact about the Indigo, BR. There is a passageway under 3rd Street to the Hilton (old Capital House) that was used back in the day by politicians and their mistresses.

I stayed at the Indigo BR and found the rooms to be nice and the service first rate.

When the Hilton was renovated, they originally intended to have the passage way renovated as well and turned into a bar or dining area (if I remember correctly). In fact, they may have actually completed renovation at some point - however, there were issues with sewage backing up into the passage and it was going to be too expensive to address, so the idea was scrapped.

A manager at the Hilton told me that years ago. Don't know how much of it has changed since then.

just thought it was interesting.

Same thing for the Hotel Indigo in Waco. Best hotel in Waco and nothing but Baylor chicks work there.

Win.
