Probably because Lortab that she had been getting is no longer available. She will have to be switched to another hydrocodone-acetaminophen product that contains 325 mg of acetaminophen or less per dose such as Norco (325mg) or Vicodin's new formulations (300 mg).

Don't know why but they are trying to convert the hydrocodone users to Norco which are supposedly better for the liver.
That's great news then. Norco is just a brnad name. It is still 10mg hydrocodone, but with 325mg acetaminophen. The less acetaminophen, the better.

pharmacists are not allowed to fill the script.

They are no longer using hydrocodone with 500 or 750 of Tylenol in it. Everything will be moved to Norco (325) or new formulations of hydrocodome with 300 mg of Tylenol. It should have been done a while ago

Pretty much correct, except Norco also comes in 5 mg and 7.5 mg strengths for the hydrocodone.

Was your mother present at the time?

They are no longer dispensing the 5/500. 7.5/500, OR 10/500 formulations, BC as of new year the fda does not allow greater than 325 of acetaminophen per tablet. This does not = "no longer dispensing hydrocodone" this is the PM doctors fault for not writing her a new script. They knew this was coming. Find a better doc

Actually, they don't. They use to have Darvocet but they quit making it because of vascular problems among users. Lorcet and Percocet are stronger and the other opiates like the oxys and roxys are way too strong for her. My poor dad now has to put up with her for a few days.
Yea, you don't know what you talking about

Pharmacist should be able to fill in Norco or the new formulation hydrocodone

This is correct

Sounds like I just made the cut. I refilled the last of my hydrocodone/acetaminophen on Monday. That tonsillectomy was painful

Actually, I used too

I heard they are still filling Norco, just not Lorcet or Lortab because of the Acetaminophen content

Pain management doctors are totally legitimate.
Actually they are limp dick. Cancer patients go to them every day to increase quality of life for the remaining time they have left.

My mom had a total knee replacement in December, and she is actually having the same problem. Was told in late December that all pharmacies were out of it. She wasn't supposed to take Percs because she has liver problems but is having to take them because there is nothing else available that she can take.

JJust go to a different pharmacy.

Sounds like you got blacklisted.
