Like a few others have said, hydrocodone is not banned. It's the ones that have 500 mg or more of Tylenol ( acetaminophen). All you should have to do is call the doc and get a new script for ones that don't have 500 or more. So if she was taking the 10/500s, they will just give here the 10/325, which should work just as well since she will still be getting 10 mg of Hydrocodone

She was taking 325-10's and every pharmacy in metairie/kenner area has told us they've been out since 12/26. She has been taking 300-10's since then.

That would make sense. Just found it odd that she hasn't been able to fulfill her perscription for 2 weeks now.

They can only fill once a month. Even if she has refills. Walmart's policy. Always been that way with controlled substances.

So much fail in this thread. Hydrocodone/acet. is still bring written and filled for. We are just no longer can fill any tylenol over 500mg. We can fill 10/325...7.5/300...etc. Pretty soon hydrocodone will become a schedule 2 and you will have to get a new rx every time. Pill addiction in this country is a epidemic.

Not sure if serious? If you had chronic pain from an accident, and had exhausted all other medical treatments such as surgery and physical therapy, where exactly would you go?

Don't know why but they are trying to convert the hydrocodone users to Norco which are supposedly better for the liver.

Ordinary vicodin has 500 mg of acetaminophen, a pain reliever that is bad for the liver and for squares only. Norco has only 325 mg of acetaminophen, which is still 325 mg too much in my opinion. I've long advocated a combination of hydrocodone and tramadol, but my wisdom falls on the enormously deaf ears of legislators and the pharmaceutical industry.

The last few times I've gotten scripts for hydrocodone I've requested they give me the type with ibuprofen and not acetaminophen.

This is true, and part of that is because people don't know anything about them and the differences in pain meds

The whole hydrocodone thing was posted on here a while back.

Actually, they don't. They use to have Darvocet but they quit making it because of vascular problems among users. Lorcet and Percocet are stronger and the other opiates like the oxys and roxys are way too strong for her. My poor dad now has to put up with her for a few days.

Norco (sp?) Basically lortab without the acetaminophen in it.

That's wrong. Norco brand has less acetaminophen. Usually 325mg

Lortab/Hydrocodone has no pain killing effect on me. It just makes me pissed off and angry. If I ever need serious pain relief, I know the docs are going to treat me like an addict.
