Use UR to KF Skypass on KF. I believe it is 62.5K in Biz.

I would also check the going rate in economy and consider the 1.5c redemption through portal.

Other option is MR -> ANA. Could work in a stopover in Tokyo this way. Low YQ

Korean and ANA was the first ones I looked into but does not seem that they operate out of MSY.

They dont. But through their partner airlines you can get to an airport they fly into/out of. Delta, iirc, is a Korean Air partner.

What blackened said. Korean will allow connections within alliance (DL). Should be able to connect on UA to ANA gateway as well.

AK, How long you think the CSR offer will stay at 100k UR? I have until May before I am below 5/24. I'm sitting at 5 cards exactly in 24 months currently since some others just dropped off.

FYI- I really like the Red Aviator. Has all the perks of the Citi AA and I have a higher balance and for the past 2 years when I call in they give me a free AF and more miles Will be cancelling the Citi in March unless they waive the AF. Only issue is I've had that card since 2005 so I don't like losing the age of credit but I have an older card.

I think you should be good. That could change, but there's no reason to believe that it will.

Make sure you do it after the CSR. And make sure this is the card you want that earns AA miles. Because you will be excluded from any AA cards from Citi for 2 years.

Either that, or upgrade to AA aviator plat to earn EQMs (only worth it if it helps you qualify for a higher status on AA). That way you keep the AAoA, although I dont think it matters that much since you have an older card.

Do what after? Just called in last week to waive the AF. This is one of the cards that went past the 2 years.

Not sure what you mean on the last quote? Citi AA is my older card and will be canclled unless they waive AF. Red Aviator is now past 2 years old and they already waived so I'm keeping this one at least another year. Plus I like to have one card earning AA as I fly them often from HI to the mainland. Although that could change since you showed me the UR awesomeness

As far as being excluded from Citi AA that won't be an issue likely. It will probably play well into me getting it again anyway and getting a bonus in 2 years.

Yeah why would you ever pay for another flight to the mainland or Europe if you have the ink haha. I'd be spending weekends in USVI.

I got confused between the citi and Barclay. Yeah PC Citi AA to either double cash or no af AA bronze. If you are over the 2 year time limit, apply for a new one for 60k

Update to this? Did you end up doing it and going to Albertsons like another poster suggested? I'm considering doing the same this week to max out my chase freedom bonus category. Is this a safe way to manufactured spend?

Edit: Thought you were talking about 2017 Q1. 2016 Q4 does, infact, include drugstores.

OVGCS can be liquidated at Alberstons, yes.

There were mixed responses after so I did not do it. Instead, I bought about $1200 worth of Amazon gift cards from a Walgreens for the 5% off since I spend a lot on Amazon

Thanks for the tip. I had no problem liquidating 2 one vanilla visa gift cards to money orders today at Albertson's.. within minutes of purchasing them down the road at CVS and Walgreens.

Question: assuming you buy a $500 GC, do you just tell them to make the money order out for $500 minus whatever the fee is? Because that's what I ended up doing. Just was weird asking for 2 money orders for $499.25

Yes, that is what I do. There is a 4 swipe limit, so you can always say - 2 money orders for 499.25 each and that you would like to do a split payment. You can also do 500 on one and 498.50 on the other. Or 2 $500 and pay $1.50 on another card/cash. You get the idea. Just remember the 4 swipe limit. Fee + Load needs to be covered unless you will pay cash to cover any excess.

Anyone know how many Avios British Airways charges for their new direct flight from MSY to Heathrow round trip? I tried signing up with an account and kept getting error messages for things that were not errors so I gave up

ETA: I notice there are two program options on BA- Executive Club and Avios Travel Rewards Program. Which one did yall sign up with?

Great Circle Mapper puts the distance at 4,600 miles MSY to LHR. This is 16,000 (off-peak) to 25,000 Avios in economy one way.

You want to sign up for BA Executive Club

How to tell when is peak/offpeak? Looking at November 2017. Supposedly that is off peak for London hotels, but I'm not sure what the flight would be classified as.
