But you have to use it by your December statement which would could come at any point between Dec 1 and Dec 31. So get moving.

i actually just did it and then called to confirm after approval and they gave Dec 20, so a full month to use it. Perfect!

Yea I don't use Uber for anything nor ever pay for parking so I'm struggling here to get the full $300 credit

On such short notice, an airline/hotel gift card is likely your best bet, as you've already mentioned. I burned through my $300 very quickly and naturally, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Is there a way to see how much travel credit I have left? I'm probably going to buy a Marriott gift card

I believe you can see it if you click your Ultimate Rewards link once inside your Chase account.

Hey Gene, what are the pros/cons of the Platinum Amex vs The Sapphire Reserve? I spoke with Amex on the phone and since I never had the business platinum and only the personal platinum, if I do apply for the business platinum i can get the 100k point sign up bonus after $10k in 3 months. The amex lounges are hands down the best and the food and drinks are amazing and I remember the one in miami had free massages and manicures for the wife too.
Obviously sapphire reserve has 3x points on dining which is huge for me, but all other perks rolled into one, if you had to choose 1 card, both being $450/year why one or the other. I know lots of businesses dont take amex, but for me, my biggest expenses are at SAMs and they do take it now so thats not a problem for me. I was waiting I knew they'd put in an offer to compete with the CSR and it seems like they did. I also like the new 1.5x points on all charges over $5k bc I do indeed spend north of that often on the card for work.

Accurate. Go into UR and click on your CSR. You should see a nifty little wheel on the right saying how much of your travel credit you've used this year.

Do you have to meet the 4K spend on CSR before you can get 300$ credit? I just got approved and want to get credit before new year.

It's my understanding that the sign up bonus (4k spend for 100k points) is utterly unrelated to the annual benefit of $300 of travel credit.

the person on the phone yesterday told me simply that the $300 would be in 2016 credit if spent by my statement closing 12/20... if he neglected to tell me that it would need to be $4,300 by then, id be pretty annoyed.
the more realistic question (which isnt a big deal) is does that $300 (or i guess $600 for those signing up now and spending in Jan/Feb too) count towards the $4k spend.

Travel credit has nothing to do with your $4k signup bonus spend

No, you get the $300 to use immediately. (if you were going to spend on travel anyway, it helps offset the $450 fee on the first statement)

I'll take this one step further. The benefits of a credit card have nothing to do with the initial spend to get points/miles. You have the benefits whether you do or don't meet the initial spend.

With all of these crazy $400-500 round trip flights to Europe going on I have a CUR question.
If I book one of these flights now using CUR travel portal (25-30k CUR), could I get refunded miles if something happens between now and then? I really want to take advantage of these prices but I'm not sure if I can plan that far ahead right now. I seriously doubt these deals will still be there in 2-3 weeks when I'll have a better idea of my spring/early summer plans.
Or would it just be like normal non-refundable tickets booked with cash/card?

You can typically buy trip protection for like $40 which would let you cancel. Unless you have status with the airline, I seriously doubt they would refund you the ticket for nothing but other than DL I don't know many airlines policies.

Maybe more appropriate to post in here.
Finished min spend on CSR and got my first $300 credit for 2016.
Just got Ritz card in mail. Any successes with ritz carlton travel credit reimbursement? Been reading it's a lot harder with this department. Limited options.
