For $420 I would have bought the flight
Why do you say that?

$420 is reaching the lowest levels you will ever see flying to Europe. I just think you probably could have saved the miles to redeeem on a more expensive fare. 28k miles is good tho. What air line?

1.5c is a fixed rate redemption. Doesn't matter what the cost of the flight was. If you think 1.5c is good value for your points then that is what you should do. I would do it. As I always say - "Cash is king" and "Spend cash last."
The least is 25K RT to Europe on Flying blue through their promo awards. Which they never have when you need them. Plus about $150 in fees. Considering no promos, going to Europe in the Summer is at least 60K RT. So all things considered 28K for RT to Europe is a top redemption.

They may have opted to drive further to get an earlier appointment. New Orleans has pretty good availability compared to other "large" cities
Yup. I scheduled my global entry appt in d.c. for late January back in early October as that was the first weekend available.
I even tried to see if la Guardia or JFK had openings during my trip up there in early Dec and Nada.

I understand, but I just spend money on flights to BTR and SLC, so my bank account needs a break. Also, as he said, the redemption rate doesn't change.
This was booked through Delta. Less than 24 hours later and the price for the same booking jumped to $1200+, so I guess I got in just in time.

I just got my metal sapphire reserve and its made out of a completely different material than the JP Morgan Reserve card, its like half the thickness, what is the JPM card made out of, its not palladium like the previous card, but its METAL as in it makes a plunk if you drop it, the CSR is more like plastic and bends. Why does the CSR have no numbers on the front and just a name but the JPM card has it all on the front? Anyways attaching pics so you can see the thickness

The CSR card is for average joes while the JPM reserve is for their high rollers.
I'm more upset that the CSR just looks stupid.

Not just that but what kind of metal bends? You can't call that csr metal the jpm card doesn't bend at all lol the csr is basically plastic in comparison

You can ask my wife for yelling at me for bending our silverware a few weeks ago

Definitely cheap'd out on the metal for sure.
At the same time, I'll repeat that I'd expect the private wealth exclusive card to be more "status" worthy than a card whose income requirement is probably social security + good credit score

Gene next time you talk to chase be sure to have them write you a commission check on my behalf bc until like 2-3 months ago I had basically just an amex green that I charged everything on bc I was too cheap to pay for the platinum or black card bc the benefits were meh at best and the Amex lounges were so few and far between and now thanks to you and this thread, this is my portfolio lol

Got my metal CSR today. Having previously had the CSP, it's what I expected. Frankly, I'm not sure if I'd really want it to be much heavier/thicker than it is. The cards in my wallet take up enough space

Mother effers at Chase never got me 4x of legit referrals for 40k points
I'm really really pissed about this

Amex is doing 100,000 offer for the business platinum when you spend $10,000 in the first 3 months now and 50,000 if you just spend $5k, I just got the offer in the mail and they boosted their points to 1.5x
Posted on 11/19/16 at 5:24 pm to dabigfella
If you already had the platinum signup, I don't think you are eligible though.
Not a horrible move, you could double up on travel credit $200 December/Jan, get the 100k too

i will say this, as much as I like the chase products, their chargeback policies are god awful and may drive me back to amex shortly. I bought a make america great again hat for the wife bc she always wants mine, I paid for the 2 days shipping and didn't get it after 10 days so I asked for a refund and was told I had to give the merchant 15 days to fulfill the order and then when I got it they would send me a form to fill and then I could send it back I was like WTF amex is no questions asked.
The highlights of that call were the friendly operator going from friendly to complete, looney beeyotch when she saw Donald Trump Make America Great Again Committee charge for $32.01 lol she mentioned it with some rage as she transferred me to a supervisor when I asked how that was even possible that a chargeback was so difficult

I have only had one chargeback in 6 years of owning CCs. Man you've really are getting shafted
You could stick with Chase for business purposes then use Amex for personally spending.
Your personal spending is like Bill Gates finding a $5 bill in terms of rewards earnings. still get chase value from business spend then Amex benefits for personal

What would yall do to finish off the $300 2016 travel spend since the year is winding down? I guess a gift card from an airline is about the only option?
