There are reports out there that Sprint will buy T-Mobile.

And how will that work?

AT&T bought T-Mobile and the Department of Justice said they would block it, and AT&T pulled out.

sprint is a much smaller company than att. att acquiring tmo would have just strengthened the verizon/att duopoly which would be bad for consumers. a sprint/tmo merger would create 3 large carriers, which is better for the consumer.

the problem that i see is the different technologies, gsm and cdma. last time sprint acquired a company using a different technology(nextel) it didn't work out so well.

Sprint doesn't have the same position in the market that AT&T has. Do you know why the DOT blocked it?
