A live NFL game is the worst mega event(not just sports) there is. Seriously 8 minutes of action spread out over 3 hours.

I have found it a lot cheaper to just go to the local sports bar and watch a game.

College football: every game is on TV

Pro: still doing decent because of directtv and their bullshite. if that ever gets changed it'll be the same as everything else

It's a fun experience to go to games but it's so much easier to stay home.

The moment that turned the tide for me, although it isn't a sporting event:

My daughter loves the Imagination Movers. A couple of years ago, they decided to put on a free concert at UNO. But you still had to get a free ticket to get in. I went to Ticketmaster that morning and the concert sold out before I could get in. So just to check I went to stubhub later that afternoon, and dozens of people were selling their free tickets for between $50-150.

That's when I decided that I'm not playing the game anymore. People who get free tickets with no intention of using them whatsoever, but instead use them to hold everyone else hostage, are assholes and I'm not giving in to them.

I'll use stubhub for tickets when prices are at or below face value. But other than that, screw 'em.

I wish that tickets had to be used by whoever bought them. But hen the stadiums would be empty on occasion.

Ticket/parking prices keep getting more and more obnoxious(in an economy that isn't doing well) while TVs keep getting larger, nicer and cheaper.

My brother had season tickets last year to the saints game, he didn't attend a game. He sold every ticket, not only did he get his money back, he already paid for next season.

The costs of tickets... Because I'd much rather be at the game but I'm not breaking the bank to go.

- Hi Def TV
- $$$$$$$ of tickets. You can take your family of four on vacation for the price of one NFL game.

I agree, but why single out the NFL? College football is just as bad. The games actually take longer.

The only sporting events that I *truly* enjoy anymore are US Soccer matches, and one of the big reasons is that I have the ability to purchase tickets before the general public (in most cases) and can guarantee a great seat. We also get to travel to these games, so we get to make a vacation out of it.

I have LSU basketball season tickets (to support the rebuild) and Pelicans season tickets to support them being here. I go to a few football and baseball games (LSU) throughout the year, and maybe a Saints preseason game.

To be brutally honest, I *dread* going to Tiger Stadium these days. It's always an epic logistical clusterfrick, everything is priced to the hilt, and the place is crawling with people who act like they've just been released from a cage. I have none of those headaches at home.

I can still go, I can still have a decent time, but outside of my one (or two) trips a year to see the US play..... I'd rather watch a game at home

I like going to see the rangers in Arlington a couple of times a summer, reasonably priced and can still get pretty good seats. Great atmosphere, get to watch choo choo train and fielder as new additions and enjoy watching the young ladies in there summer attire.

I also enjoy a big high school Friday night football game. Atmosphere, intensity can be as fun as anything on a larger scale.

More entertainment(if you are in to marching bands), shorter timeouts and much cheaper tickets

That said its still terrible.
