Hootie isn't as far behind Adams as some of you want to believe, but I do believe Adams is the better player that is more ready to come in and start than Hootie and has a higher ceiling. We have to remember that they are two different types of safeties. Like my post in another thread about players fitting certain teams better, we got the one that fits LSU.

If they don't want a guy who also did not want to be here, why should they just take him?

Adams is a far superior fit, even if they don't play the same position. I am super excited. Hootie didn't look so good in his last game, and his frame does not look like a safety to me.. even tho he has good ball skills he just looks like he will pudge up. LSU was definitely interested in him, especially because he was in state.. but once he chose elsewhere I believe they weren't so hot about him.. As evident here.

Thank fricking God LSU was able to win that heated recruiting battle to bring in Logan 'Big Time' Stokes.

JMHO

I think it has reached a time for LSU to increase its recruiting budget start recruiting the out-of-state recruits as it does with in-state recruits.

Robert Lane gave Jimbo an ultimatum. Him or JaMarcus.

Is he the QB who decommitted from LSU when J. Russell committed? Matt Flynn was already committed, also.

Per new NCAA legislation, coaches are no longer restricted from contacting recruits during assigned dead periods if the recruit signs a non-binding financial aid agreement with the school. Jones signed two such agreements with Alabama and LSU.

Good grief...Schools were not prohibited from contacting recruits during a dead period prior to this. Dead and quiet periods only deal with in person contact...

"Alabama already felt like home"

that's all that we needed to know; that and Saban ain't leaving, because he stated earlier he wanted to play for "Saban the DB coach"

Even if LSU had contacted him, he wasn't coming. I don't know why he chose to do this, but Staff played it correctly from the "minimize risk" point of view.

And that's the reason we visit at the 11th hour, and that's the reason we gladly accept his commitment on 12/2.

I think everyone needs to do like Hootie and move on. Wish him well, except against LSU.

Hootie, by all accounts, is a bright young man, and I think he saw what so many on here are having great difficulty in seeing.

I would have liked to see him at Stanford.

See C-Rob and Speedy. Sometimes not offering one kid cost you more in the end. This may come back to bite us in the future, but it's a tough situation no matter which call the coaches make.

ETA: We talk more about him then any other recruit on this board even though we just grabbed the #1. I think it's time to let it go.
