I can answer this some may not like this but most kids grow up Su are Grambling fans mostly Su and no one really likes Les Miles coaching. That's all I hear down here it's nothing against LSU is just Miles and that's the truth take it for what it's worth

12 guys on the roster this season were from NO. Do you mean "top tier" talent?

correct. i also will not totally toss frank under the bus as those kids informed LSU they were coming.

I hope LF becomes the model of representing LSU and Louisiana from the nola area. I'd rather have St. Aug locked down than Karr.

A lot of the inner-city kids just want to get far away. If a kid doesnt have that great of a home life, why would he awant to stay home?

Every kid's situation is different. That's why you can't totally put up a fence around the state.

I think that has been evident for a good amount of years. How many star studded nola kids have we pulled in?

Freak?
Hill - and that took some absurd effort from the greatest coach of all time in nick saban
Beckham was an LSU legacy.

Hill was a Baton Rouge kid.

Karr is not New Orleans.

And I will take St. Aug. kids all day, along with any kids in the Catholic league that can play SEC football. Throw in some kids from Belle Chase and the Westbank and I think LSU will be just fine in New Orleans.

edit note: Karr not Carr

tell me the long list of big name nola kids LSU has landed? the list we missed is far greater i'd wager.

And by big name I mean Top 50 kids

There haven't been that many "studs" in the NOLA area by your description until around 2011.

Most of our best players before then have been from elsewhere in the state.

2014 was simply the best year for the NOLA area in a good while.

Alexander is not a top tier kid...isaid top 50

LF - first in a VERY long time

DW - good talent but not Top 50

The recruiting board is quickly becoming as bad, if not worse than, the rant.

Wake me after NSD

holy fricking shite.

De La Salle is on St. Charles Ave.

Carr is not New Orleans.

Algiers is Orleans Parish, therefore it's New Orleans.

Belle Chasse and 95% of the Westbank are not New Orleans. It's not the metro area that's the problem. it's Orleans Parish Public Schools that are at issue here.

Hill from NOLA isn't an opinion, its wrong
Collins from NOLA isn't an opinion, its wrong
Denying the fact that we have several starters from New Orleans, but only focusing on talent that leaves, isn't an opinion, its wrong

god damn people its a discussion board. i'm promoting a discussion on LSU's lack of a hold on new orleans. In no way am i damning LSU or LF, or any other nola kid.

I'm simply stating that as a whole LSU throughout history has RARELY gotten top 50 talent from the nola area.
