This is exactly what everyone has predicted with all of the delays and changes to the legislation... Way to go team obamacare, way to go

Hospital staff in Northern Virginia are turning away sick people on a frigid Thursday morning because they can't determine whether their Obamacare insurance plans are in effect.
Patients in a close-in DC suburb who think they've signed up for new insurance plans are struggling to show their December enrollments are in force, and health care administrators aren't taking their word for it.
In place of quick service and painless billing, these Virginians are now facing the threat of sticker-shock that comes with bills they can't afford.
'They had no idea if my insurance was active or not!' a coughing Maria Galvez told MailOnline outside the Inova Healthplex facility in the town of Springfield.
She was leaving the building without getting a needed chest x-ray.
'The people in there told me that since I didn't have an insurance card, I would be billed for the whole cost of the x-ray,' Galvez said, her young daughter in tow. 'It's not fair – you know, I signed up last week like I was supposed to.'
The x-ray's cost, she was told, would likely be more than $500.

Even more good news...

CHICAGO (AP) — The new year brought relief to some Illinois patients newly insured under the nation’s health care law. Others still weren’t sure whether they were covered, despite their best efforts to navigate the often-balky new system.
The major benefits of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul took effect Wednesday, the first day of 2014. By Thursday, the first business day of the new insurance system, it became clear that snags in the rollout of the Affordable Care Act still remained.
On the plus side, the law’s protections mean consumers can no longer be denied coverage if they’re in poor health. New limits on how much insured patients must pay for care will mean fewer bankruptcies after catastrophic illnesses. Insurance plans must offer a minimum level of essential benefits, and care such as flu shots and mammograms will be fully covered without cost to patients.
But early problems with the federal HealthCare.gov website led many people to wait until last week to sign up, and insurers are still processing enrollment forms.
Paperwork problems almost delayed suburban Chicago resident Sheri Zajcew’s scheduled surgery Thursday, but Dr. John Venetos decided to operate without a routine go-ahead from the insurance company. That was after Venetos’ office manager spent two hours on hold with the insurer Thursday, trying to get an answer about whether the patient needed prior authorization for the surgery. The office manager finally gave up.
“I’m not a happy camper,” said Nate Zajcew, the patient’s husband. The couple signed up for a Blue Cross Blue Shield bronze plan through the federal HealthCare.gov site on Dec. 16. “I understand it’s just a matter of paperwork and yesterday was a holiday. I can be an SOB, too, at times, but since they’re going on with the procedure, it’s OK.”
Venetos, a Chicago digestive system specialist, described “tremendous uncertainty and anxiety” among patients calling his office recently. Some thought they’d signed up for coverage but hadn’t received insurance cards yet. Others had insurance policies that were canceled and weren’t sure if their coverage had been reinstated after Gov. Pat Quinn decided to allow one-year extensions of canceled plans.
Venetos said he has decided to take a risk and provide care for these patients, at least until there’s less confusion about coverage.
“We feel it’s the right thing to do,” Venetos said. “We may end up stuck holding the bag and not getting paid on these claims.”

Oh, and then theres this....

The number of people seeking to use their new ObamaCare coverage for the first time is expected to spike next week.
Representatives from healthcare companies, trade groups, and the Obama administration told The Hill that many who obtained new coverage under the law are using this week to learn about their plans and set up preliminary appointments.
They’re expected to turn out in force at the nation’s clinics and hospitals as early as next Monday.
“We are anticipating a surge in activity beginning next week,” said Markeisha Marshall, a spokesperson for Walgreens, the country’s largest pharmacy.
“We haven’t seen many issues, but it’s early,” said Kevin Schweers of the National Community Pharmacists Association.
“We’re predicting Monday will be a better arbiter [for how the law is holding up], so that’s something we’re keeping an eye on,” Schweers added. “We’ve asked our members to let us know about their experiences.”
The administration and healthcare groups have been bracing for the latest test of the law after enrollment deadline delays and processing errors at HealthCare.Gov created an administrative nightmare for insurers.
Two worries are paramount.
The first is that a sizable number of consumers who show up at the doctor’s office will discover that they don’t have the insurance they thought they purchased.
A second is that people have enrolled in ObamaCare, but have to make a payment. Some will discover they don’t have the insurance they thought they purchased as a result .

This Obamacare rollout is about like the invention of the automobile before the roads were built.

Only if everyone was forced to buy an automobile

That would equate Obamacare to being "ahead of it's time".
The Obamacare rollout is more akin to a horse drawn carriage with 3 wheels missing, being dragged on the interstate.

Dumb bitch has a $5000 deductible, so she was going to pay the $500 anyway. People don't understand insurance. they think it's FREE!!!

And THIS is the fricking issue... All of these people who just now decided to get insurance are going to use it for high cost procedures without paying ANYTHING into the system.

Guaranteed Obama (or via Carney) place the blame for these hijinx on the insurance companies. That's if it's even brought up in a presser.

Don't put that out there....
Next thing you know, the leeches will be clambering for ObamaCars!

Does this qualify as hope, or change?

Yup...But in all honesty, that is not 100% the individuals fault. HHS didn't even build in the back end system to send info over to the insurance companies until mid-Nov.

exfrickingzactly
So guess what? People that thought this was "free" still aren't going to pay the bills, they will still clog the ER and the taxpayer/paying consumers will shoulder the burden.
Exactly the same shite will go that the ACA claimed to "fix".
What a sham. What a waste of time and money.

When will we see stories of people walking into hospitals and doctors offices, thinking that Obamacare is free healthcare for all and that they just walk in and get their treatment at no cost and no signing up?

If there was ever a perfect example of government waste, it was this program. It was gut wrenching, watching someone pour that liquid glass shite into an engine block of a corvette, simply because they were mandated to. A perfectly fine engine, destroyed because the Government is too fricking stupid to understand resell value of car parts, especially classic car engines. Another great Obama "victory".

Yup and that is one reason that the used car market is so inflated right now.
