They basically told him he could start, keyword "could".
Truth is he could start almost anywhere. LSU might have more depth at DE, but it's not like the starting positions are locked up. Anything could happen.
Plus he doesn't like being considered a DT, which is what most fans on here pegged him as.

Did you notice the shout out that Tony Brown gave to his recruiting class at Bama? It included Hootie.....he never decommitted, tried to get LSU to take the bait....they didn't.
