I'm sure I can find several more but I really don't have that kinda time in my hands. But I'm pretty certain we aren't the only school to experience this.

just google "academically ineligible for bowl 2013" and you'll get a good list. Bama has 2 out for DWI...Georgia, Mich State, Notre Dame, Oregon all had suspensions for bowl games based on page 1 of googling "suspended for bowl game"

I had a feeling something like this was going to happen. We can't buy a break in bowl games. We were already thin at DL.

and get some experience for next year. If it is academics they've known about if for a while, so his replacement has been getting the reps as well.

We have seen them, we aren't saving anyone. Ego is our best interior DL.

LSU will once again lead the nation in mediocre players leaving school early for the chance to make a NFL practice squad.

With Thomas, Lacouture, Johnson, why would we have to burn a redshirt?

I'm 100% more interested in this and beating Iowa at this point. 3 man DT rotation? Other candidates? I'm assuming this had to be on the coaches radar well in advance of this announcement. More interested in contingency plans.

You've seen them in limited action. I'm hyped to see what someone else can do.

I was wondering what other source people were looking at. The OP apparently didn't read the article that he posted where it clearly states it is NOT for academic reasons. Then we have 7 pages of ppl bashing Ferguson for not going to class. Did anyone actually read the article?

Ware would have been cut eventually, people dont keep 2 FBs.

Wrong. They would have cut him regardless then. Just pay an injury settlement and save some money. They also were thinking about leaving him at RB.

Simon, who knows but I doubt he would have been active.

You're an idiot. He would have probably played this year if not for injuries.

Chris Faulk where is he???

Getting physical therapy and rehab conducted and paid for by an NFL team. Plus getting paid while healing.

Montgomery got picked up by the Raiders, but who knows what his deal is.

He signed a minimal deal. Making more money than the average doctor.

Pathetic example of how a student/athlete should act and an insult to the program to be so selfish.

Simon and ware got the NFL equivalent of a red shirt. Teams will abuse the IR designation when a player is not good enough to keep active every week but don't want to risk losing them by placing them on the practice squad.

Saints do it every year with their young receivers. See Henderson, Meachum and Toon.
