Some will "turn" because the "cause" is his apparent lack of effort this semester. I'm not making an assumption when I say it's is own fault, one way or another, that he's not eligible. He's not a freshman who's overwhelmed.

I will take one guess though. Had we been playing in the NC, I doubt he would have let this happen.

If you're saying after the sec championship he'd suddenly try harder and magically pull up all his grades, I doubt it works that way...

My point earlier is also less about ego and more on fans suddenly jumping all early enrollees. Mention Hillard leaving early and it's good riddance, suggest he's staying and we're calling him a savior, that's the issue. (That savior part was a but tongue-in-cheek)

You mean draftees. And I don't really see a lot of this (maybe because I don't post on the rant much).

I don't think people are annoyed by the fact that he is leaving early (presumably). What's annoying is that he is leaving early, decided to stop caring about grades and ultimately hurt the team. Now someone has to play in his place and we may have to burn a redshirt for a bowl game against Iowa.

Same result as if he had gained 100 lbs and failed a physical. Different kind of lazy by same result.

I did mean draftees, been on the rb too much lately. It sucks we're possibly going to burn a redshirt, lose his presence in the middle against the run, etc., if he was indeed lazy, I'm just not into all the player bashing, it doesn't do anybody any good.

No. I'm saying he stopped trying after Ole Miss.

I honestly wasn't sure where you were going with that. He may have very well quit academically after ole miss, but unless we've got his pre and post ole miss test grades, how would we know? shite, maybe it was just a tough semester of upper level chem classes...or he quit.

Can this be the tipping point for us to stop allowing or celebrating underclassmen running out the tunnel on Senior Day?

sorry to hear that. well sorta. We lost our starting TB two years in a row going into bowl games. Stinks. So many of these kids just can't or wont do the most basic class work.

Like I said. I made an assumption there. Saying if we were still in it for the NC, he wouldn't have let this happen.

With Thomas, Lacouture, Johnson, why would we have to burn a redshirt?

Gotcha

And as I final point, I do hope they put a stop to underclassmen running out on senior day as already stated by others.
