Marisa Tomei was great in Before the Devil Knows You're Dead*, and in The Wrestler*.

You shut your whore mouth.

She stays in her comfort zone character wise, but she always does well.

That's exactly who came to mind first

Also, as far as Nick Cage, he has had lots of really good roles and played them well. Kick arse and Lord of War come to mind as far as the last few years. And as mentioned, Raising Arizona was great.

Ryan Reynolds in Van Wilder. Everything else sucked

Wrong

If you liked Van Wilder then he played the exact same role in Waiting and did it well.

His best performance is in Definitely Maybe.

Wil Wheaton in Stand By Me

Meh, he was over shadowed by River Phoenix by a large amount in that movie. I don't think he has a "great performance".

Shooter McGavin is the standard by which all villains should be measured.

Also, Cuba was good in Boyz in the Hood and Jamie Foxx in Collateral was money.
