Well they are making 400K per year. So yeah it's worth it to make more money than most doctors

Besides, Sam wasn't gonna improve his stock much coming back.
Sam was actually rated as a top 15 pick after the 2011 season. But he decided to come back one more year for another shot at the natty.

Obviously this thread should have been about players on the fence and not EVERY Junior.
When you talk about those that are thinking of returning is one thing, calling out every Junior is just plain stupid....

Their net after-tax and agent income is not close to $400k. If they wash out the NFL in 2 to 4 years, then it is not worth it. Very few players benefit in the long run by leaving college early.

Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill have nothing to gain from coming back as much as i would love to see them in P&G for another year it would be a disservice....pretending you care about these individuals in any way besides the bell cow you want to ride to a shot at a national title is a lie.

You know they can come back and finish their degree for free right? So if a player isn't getting any better in college and will be drafted why the hell would you not go to the NFL? Whatever they are making after taxes and agents is better than playing for free and risking your career with an injury.

As I said, I believe very few players benefit by leaving early. In my opinion, most players would improve their draft stock by staying in college another year.

Injury risk in NFL is probably higher than in college.

The only thing Tharold Simon would have accomplished by coming back is he would have been one more guy T. White and Rashard Robinson would've beat out for the starting jobs.

Correct. And wasn't this the young man who wanted to purchase Eunice, also? So there's that.
(Apologies if the wrong player..but I remember one wanting to own Eunice or the subsidized housing in Eunice, not sure if they have acquired either)

Very few players that stay make it. There are hundreds of college teams, there are a handful of NFL teams with cap restrictions. Plus some guys that leave early already have a degree, the others can just finish when they get out of the league in 2-4 years. Really no point in staying.

While this is true, you still don't get it. There isn't a diff in being drafted in the 3rd or being an undrafted free agent. Most that improve their stock still can't improve the first contract they will get. If they stay in college they are missing out on that first contract, money they will never make back, and they are further away from the second contract.
Only player I can see benefitting from another year is Collins. At his position you can go from 3rd or 4th round to a top 10 pick. There is where the diff in money is. Not from the 2nd to undrafted.

This is foolish talk. White would not have gotten the starting CB job if TS were here - not even close. Of course RR never has beaten out the starter, who is Jalen Mills, BTW.

Yeah second rounders can make 5 million over 4 years, 7th rounders can make 2.3 million over 4 years not much a difference
Undrafted FA make 405k with small signing bonus
Those that stay on practice squad get 6,000 a week or 106k a year.
