The nubs on my mini grip wore through my pants much faster than any other knife I have owned

I've never had that problem. I don't use the clip either though.

Ehh, I'm not so much worried about edge retention as blade strength and durability, especially in a folder.
I nearly lost a finger to a cheap folder once. It was my fault, but it wouldn't have happened with a better knife. You can't really replace a fixed blade with a folder, but some of the Benchmades, ZT, Spyderco, Al Mar, Emerson, etc. come as close as you can.

My new carry piece and I love it so far. Great size and weight

That ZT I had was a solid fricking knife. Moreso than some fixed blade knives I have owned

I have a mini grip I carry most days, and a Pardue I carry in dress pants, as its super slim and doesnt take up as much pocket space.
Sometimes you feel guilty for making a purchase. I've got a shoebox full of knives I've have for the last 15 years, all of which have signs of general to heavy use. I dont regret the purchase of either of my Benchmade knives, and I've carried these two for going on two years now, by far the longest span of time I've ever carried the same pocket knife.
