I think he's trying to prove to Snyder that he's been handcuffed by RGIII all season... and Synder is allowing Shannahan to attempt to prove him wrong.

A lot of people see this and think its the correct thing to do. 3-10. RG3 has been hit the 2nd most in the NFL behind Cam And hes not built the same way Cam is to say the least.

And its not like hes benching him for some horrile QB. They drafted Cousins and he hasnt looked that bad when he got in. They still need to evaluate him.

Really?? You are pretty sure Shanny intentionally leaked stuff on RGIII?? How are you pretty sure of that?? And what stuff was leaked? The fact that Snyder sides with RGIII over Shanny?? Pretty sure that was pretty well known.

And its not like Shannahan is the only person in that organization that has a issue with RGIII. A lot of other players made an opinion about him this year. Sounds like RGIII made his own bed, now hes gotta sleep in it.But its not just RGIIIs fault either. The media helped him make that bed. He was great his rookie year, and they talked about him like he was the QB ever and was untouchable. And that fed to RGIIIs ego. And it sounded like he was a pretty egotistical person to begin with. Add the fuel to the fire like the media did, and this is what happens. And on top of that, he goes out and plays like dog shite all year. Hes actually regressed as a QB.

Also, defenses saw him last year. They got the tape on him. They know what he can and cant do. And hes coming off an ACL surgery. They know his running game wasnt the same as last year. So they made him beat teams by sitting in the pocket and slinging it with pin point accuracy. And thats something RGIII just isnt that good at yet, nor was he that great at it last year.

Look at the stats... As a rookie he had a 65% completion percentage for 3200 yards and 20 TDs with 5 INTs. That was with the run threat where teams were looking in the backfield a lot and wary of his running ability. This year hes 60% for 3,203 yards for 16 TDs and 12 INTs. He got the same yardage as last season in just 13 games. But, its the spike in INTs thats killing him. And thats because Ds are selling out to stop the running threat of RGIII because hes not the same threat he was at running the ball last year. Last year he rushed for 815 yards. This year, 489 yards. Teams know that. So they drop back in coverage and force him to beat them from the pocket. And he just cant do it yet. Hes also had 11 fumbles this year. So thats 23 total turnovers for RGIII this year.

I've never heard of a coach benching a QB to protect him with this many games left. And even if that was what he was doing, I dont think he'd be inactive. There's too much smoke here for there not to be a fire.
