His introductory press conference with the Dolphins was excellent. I'm sure he was defeated by the end of that season.

As for the Ted Ginn announcement, there was no way that was going to go well. The entire fan base wanted Brady Quinn. Cameron knew he couldn't play so he didn't draft him.

I think it is a pretty good bet that miles is set at LSU for a minimum of 2 and likely 4 more years at LSU.

The main reason being the 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes.

If we win say, the 2015 NC he might be tempted to go out on top...but the allure of back to back would keep him around for 16....

I'd love to see him win back to back and then go out on his own terms.

Why do people assume Saban will coach until he is 75, but Miles will retire when he is 65.

Because Saban has nothing other than football. Miles is more well-rounded. Saban is having more success currently.

That would be why I think "people" assume that.

Interesting. Now that you mention it, he does seem a little differnt. Don't think he leaves, but perhaps he's getting tired.
Personally, I think Coach Miles is retiring soon and this was part of the reason Cam came to LSU. I think he will be the next head coach at LSU and was told...

Miles contract is to 2019. Baring any health issues. He will be our coach for 6 mire seasons.

The word is the LSU power brokers in the Tiger Athletic Foundation are okay with this if the timing works out.

I am not totally against it. But I am not crazy about this coach in waiting thing. Seems like your settling when someone better could be out there and interested. I might feel a little better if he had at least shown something at Indiana. I know its Indiana but still, a good HC could at least light a spark.

Either that or a stroke. That vein on the side of his head will explode if a player makes a mistake in the game.

I have an idea, how about Les hang around for 4-5 more years, Cam hang around and groom Frank Wilson then Frank take over as Head Football Coach. I can see it now. Louisiana would be on LOCKDOWN.

Yes, I thought about Jimbo Fisher and how the coach in waiting title did mean something to him.

But it often does not come to fruition--for example, Will Musberger, at Texas. Maybe some Florida fans wish that had become a reality.

Because Miles loves his family, where as Saban loves nothing, and only feel relief from the emptiness in his heart when his team wins, but that relief is more and more fleeting.

If true, Christmas just came early. Need to make it happen in time to influence the pile of recruits still in play.

We should assume just because Cam failed as a HC in the NFL at Miami, that he is not a major college HC material. Case in point...Bill Arnsparger failed in a very brief stint as the HC for the NY Giants, went back to Miami as a dominant DC. For us older "Ranters" we all know his brief success as LSU' HC in the mid-80's before being head hunted as the AD at Florida.

Why is she not swimming at LSU? That's insulting.
