My wife and I saw the kid yesterday, and we both were a little creeped out by it. First of all, he was not a toddler. Second of all, I would feel compelled to talk to my son, in a supportive way, about what's really important. And that "fandom" has its ups and downs. None of which truly affect your life.

ETA: And frick CBS for taking that shot, really.

What BT said.....too many ignorant fricks without kids offering their stupid azz advice on what to do in that situation.

The ones that are saying I'd beat my kid or punish my kid are the same ones who'd be ready to fight if someone was making fun of their kid right in front of them.

Kids cry....it's what they do.

A toddler wouldn't GAF.
A 10 yr old kid that loves his team would.

Some of you people have mastered the art of talking out of your arse.

That would be more of a concern for me unless they were tears of joy!

Truly idiotic replies by the internet anonymous ... I've seen plenty little LSU kids cry after heartbreaking losses and just come to this board to see "grown" men act like babies

I would pass him my kleenex after I wipe the tears from my eyes.

You tell him if he's going to cry over it, the next game he can stay home with his momma.

I don't think anyone (or at least most) is criticizing the kid really. I do think that if my son cried, I'd try to talk to him about it.

SPORTS . . . PARTICULARLY IF YOU'RE NOT A DIRECT PARTICIPANT . . . IS NOT THAT IMPORTANT NOR CRITICAL . . .

"I'm a LOUISIANA MAN and none of my kids gon' be caught dead CRYIN over a game of football, cause they're TUFF and MANLY, and football is for MEN, the head of the household!"

Kid might not have been crying over the loss. Maybe he did not get an autograph he wanted, or his sister the cheerleader turned down his offer for a date..... just a thought!

Perhaps since Bama lost, his Dad said something like: "Gosh darnit to Gump ... now we ain't goin' to da Golden Corral and do it up right....I's swear ... thar ain't no way The Bear would have allowed this shite to happen... and another thing, boy ... that Bama camo bra I'd told you to buy yo momma for Christmas ... well, forget about that shite, too. When we get thar home ... I'm gon' whip yor dog with the belt ... dag nabbit, rol tid."

Not an issue. He would be disappointed and kids cry when disappointed.

Anyone with kids know this is the only answer. I have tough boys, but I've seen them cry when momma changes the dinner

If they are crying about a game that they lost fine. If it's a game played by others that they are just pulling for its dumb and my fault they are that wrapped up in a GAME.

Wrong. Like women, you simply cannot rationalize or interpret the emotions of a child.

I'll admit that in 2003 I cried when we won ... after watching a replay ... not while in the Dome. I was still in shock!!

I cried at the end of that game but it was more about missing both of my parents who had died just a few years before. Memories of all the games I had watched with them, talked on the phone with them about and how I wish they were alive to have shared that great moment. Many of my favorite memories with my parents, siblings and other relatives were about LSU.
