Nice work and summary of how the bowls work for the SEC (on paper), but the bowl selections from one year ago more or less prove your entire post wrong.
...and thinking a 4-loss UGA will get a better bowl than a 3-loss LSU is just absurd

The SEC Website does not talk about seeding at all. LINK
Pretty sure there is no rule about a bowl taking a team based on seeding. The only rule seems to be a preference for the Cotton taking a West team and the Outback takes an East team. Other than that, bowls select who they want.

The winner of the SEC Championship Game will automatically participate in the Bowl Championship Series comprised of the Sugar, Rose, Orange and Fiesta Bowls.
The Capital One will make its pick following the BCS selections.
The Cotton Bowl has the first preference of teams from the Western Division and the Outback Bowl has first preference of teams from the Eastern Division. The Cotton or Outback Bowl can select teams outside of its divisional preference, but must not select them before the opposite bowl selects from its divisional preference.
The Chick-fil-A Bowl has the selection of preference following the Cotton and Outback Bowls, followed by the Gator Bowl with the sixth selection. The Gator Bowl is in its second year to the SEC bowl lineup. The Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl will receive the seventh selection.
The AutoZone Liberty and BBVA Compass Bowls share the eighth and ninth selections and will make their selections, not in any specific order, but in consultation with the SEC Office.
The Independence Bowl has the league’s final selection.

But believing the Cotton Bowl would use its #3 or #4 choice to take the #6 finisher in the SEC is an example of P&G glasses being worn, IMO
Assuming the higher ranked team wins out, the order teams will be ranked:
Alabama
Auburn/Missouri(higher ranked team will depend on how they looked against Alabama)
LSU/South Carolina(higher ranked team will depend on how far LSU moves up today and how South Carolina looks in their loss to Clemson, obviously will be higher if they win)
Georgia/Ole Miss/Vanderbilt
Under that particular scenario, I would predict Auburn/Missouri to Sugar/Cap1. LSU/S. Carolina to Cotton/Outback.

S. Carolina will most likely have 3 losses since they will probably lose to Clemson. The worst case scenario, bowl wise, for LSU has Auburn beating Alabama, TAMU beating Missou, and then SC beating Auburn in the SEC Champ game. That puts Auburn, Alabama, SC, and Missou ahead of LSU and no SEC team in the BCS champ game. If Bama beats Auburn and Missouri beats TAMU, and Clemson beats SC, then Bama wins SEC CG, then only Bama, Auburn, and Missouri are ahead of LSU from an attractiveness standpoint. LSU lost out in the pecking order last year because TAMU was the hot team and we were boring. This year, we have the offense to make us a more interesting matchup for a Big 12 opponent. Bama in BCS CG, Missou in Sugar, Auburn in Cap One, SC in Outback, LSU in Cotton.

"My" facts are based on the contractual agreements the SEC has with the various bowls.
What are your facts based on?
actual history and how the bowls have behaved in the past.
you don't even remember how LSU has gotten passed over after losing the SECCG? going to the Peach instead of something better according to their record?
damn you are dumb.

I love how every year there's 500 predictions and questions about 'which bowl game' before the season ever even finishes, and most of them turn out to be flat wrong.
Why can't people just wait and see how things play out? There's still lots more games to be played. It all just seems like wasted time at this point.

Order of finish does not exactly determine what bowl the teams go to.

Here are the facts about the SEC's bowl tie-ins
The real fact is it doesn't matter what seed you are in the SEC. The cotton bowl will look at who will travel and fill the stadium and who they had in the game last year. Then they will choose based on that.
Another thing, UGA has 4 losses, they aren't finishing ahead of us in the SEC.
Lastly, certain bowls only take certain divisions based on their history. The outback always takes an SEC East team and the cotton usually takes a SEC west team.
Depending on how Mizzou does against aTm in their last game, LSU has a very good shot to play Texas or Baylor in the Cotton.
In short, history says it doesn't matter a lick what your "seeding" is in the SEC. The bowls look at match up attractiveness, because they want butts in the seats and eyes on the tv.
If you need proof, go back to 2005 and watch how a 2-loss LSU team who lost in the SECCG dropped to the Chick-fil-a Bowl.

A few scenarios:
Bama beats auburn and then Aggies beat mizzou. Sc beats Clemson. Bama wins sec game
Bama to nc. Auburn or sc to sugar. Auburn or SC to cap one. Mizzou to cotton. Lsu to chick fil a. Georgia to outback
2. Mizzou beats Aggies. I think they end up in sugar no matter what.
Auburn to cap one lsu to cotton sc to outback. Geogia/ Aggies to chick fil a
3. Auburn beats Bama then sec champ
: in this scenario then auburn would either end up in national title game or sugar and then Bama gets an at large.
Cap one picks mizzou. Lsu goes to cotton

Good info Russian ,just not applicable in these times. Cotton gets LSU because they want them .End of story.

...no , UGA will have more losses ..

Your dumbass theory goes out the window when LSU beat both South Carolina and TAMU, but still ended up in the damn chicken bowl last year. We all had the same exact record plus we beat both head to head. Would you stop being a dumbass please?
And your dumbass forgot that a huge reason we ended up in chicken bowl last year, was that we played in cap one bowl in 2010, and cotton in 2011.
Your dumbass also forgot that cotton wanted us last year, but sec pulled strings to make sure georgia got a good bowl game, after almost beating bama in sec championship game, thus sending us to chicken bowl instead of georgia or s.c. (Who went to cap one and outback bowl last year)
So would you stop being an a-hole please? Or just cont. being an a-hole, and a dumbass, calling out other posters for no reason.

Where do you see us as sec # 6?
Bama 12-0 or 12-1
Aubbie 10-2 (bama loss)
Mizzou 10-2 or 11-1 or 11-2 (possible loss to txam or bama in sec cg)
S.c. 10-2 or 10-3 (loss to bama sec cg if mizz loses to txam)
Lsu 9-3
Tx am 9-3 or 8-4 (we should be ahead regardless, and txam played cotton last season)
Ga 8-4
Ole piss 8-4
Imo:
If goes to Bama bcs championship, then,
Aubbie to sugar
Mizzou or s.c to capital one
Mizzou or s.c. to outback bowl
Lsu to cotton
Tx am or Ole piss to chicken bowl
Ga to gator bowl
And, then whoever gets shafted between txam or ole piss gets the shite bowl that you arseholes are predicting we goto.

Cotton wanted us last year too! Our lsu fans = $ to the cotton bowl reps. They wanted us more than they did tx am last year. SEC front office screwed us.

It's not just standings or rankings, it's the order in which the bowls get to pick the teams. The is less rigidity than OP assumes.
Posted on 11/24/13 at 12:21 pm to dunkelman
Exactly. We lost in the seccg and played in the peach bowl
