It hasn't always been like this. But I remember being a district champ getting a bye and going on the road to play an 8-3 team and we were 9-1

A team shouldn't have to travel all through the playoffs

I'd like to apologize to all posters I called "whiners" a few years ago in regard to Lafayette officiating crews. We had a Laffy crew for the Carver @ Winnfield game Friday and they were atrocious.

Should've seen them at WM game. Clueless. Head ref didn't know what was going on.

Lafayette Association has fallen very far from where they were in the past.

You could see the confusion on his face when he called roughing the kicker. Then had players, coaches, other ref tell him it was blocked. Shook his head no then looked like really? Then stood there a few seconds. Then shook his head some more. Then enforced his bullshite call.

The white hat for our game was so old he couldn't run. And I'm not trying to be mean. I genuinely felt sorry for the man......until he missed an egregious block in the back 10 feet away from him with no other players around. Oh well....

There was a ref during the Acadiana-Lafayette high game that had a heart attack during the game. Luckily they had a couple of people there who were quick to start CPR and ended up saving his life. It was crazy.

And not every crew will have a perfectly called game. But I will say that I,as well as a lot of other teams fans, can tell you that whenever you play Barbe in Lake Charles during the regular season you will get a majority of the calls in that game. Its just the way it is and has been for a while.

Can someone repost the how travel team is determined? Thanks ... division 4 here ... 1st round bye, 2nd round at home (beat lower seed), next round at home also.

If we win, what determines if we travel or stay home?

eta: Am I right in thinking that the game we're paired with -- lower seed wins WE travel. Higher seed wins, THEY travel to us??

You heard wrong. It was 7-0 at the half. The only thing resembling offense in the 2nd half for either team was a streak for a TD on 3rd and 22. Central won, no doubt about it. Ask anyone from either side if that call didn't change the entire complexion of that game. WM would've had the ball at the Central 30 to start the game after a 3 an out in which Central lost 10 yards. Instead WM had the ball 4 plays in the first quarter. Big call. Great teams rise above that, but WM was not a great team.

Here's how home field is determined:
First round- better seed
After that, home field goes to the team that has played LESS home games in the playoffs. If both teams have played equal number of home games, then the team with the better seed garners the home game.

I don't see why people get so upset about it. I like it.

Since everyone was talking about Laffy area refs, the crew that worked the HC/Catholic game was from Laffy and were terrible. At one point as time was winding down in the fourth, the ref stopped the clock so that he could go over and fix the collar of a CHS player's jersey

I'm trying to understand the road game thing here....someone said earlier because Breaux Bridge lost that Neville wouldn't be able to play at home against deridder...the lhsaa website has the game slated for Neville.

If the team you play has been home every week and is a lower seed than you, you'll be home. If they've traveled at all or all things are equal and they're the higher seed, you'll travel.

St. Aug/Rummel Saturday at 7pm at Yenni to go to the Dome.

It should go be a good one...Roth does not lose twice to the same team in a season.

Hank Tierny disagrees with this
