We have the recruits just everyone is young on defense, especially at corner. They can't stick with the wide receivers and give the dline a chance to put pressure on the qb. We haven't blitzed our linebackers a lot because they have help out the secondary. On top of that you have freak getting double teamed all year. That's why ego seemed to be the better pass rusher at the beginning of the year because he had one dude blocking him. 2011 defense was sick because we had two all American corners along with Reid at safety and an all nfl dline. That year was experience defensive cohesion. This year was full of guys who we're playing high school ball a couple of months ago.

At least one of the d tackles will return next year and then you have hunter who is gonna be better than mingo. Line backing corps is going to improve and then you have Robinson and white coming back who took freshman all American Collins spot earlier in the year. Not only that you have two consecutive recruiting classes coming up that are full of top tier corner back talent. Bright future for the d

Idiotic?

The proof is in the pudding !
The only decent team we beat this year was auburn!
That's it!

If we played Auburn today they would beat us!
Their coach is getting 150% out of his players.
Miles needs to go!
Charlie Strong unfortunately will be hired by Florida .

After we go 7-5 next year hopefully miles will get fired!
I don't want to go 7-5 but that is what's going to happen
We have qb with no experience thanks to miles

Holy sh*t you're retarded.

We're simply not developing their skills
This has possibly been the case for a few DTs at LSU. Remember Davenport? #1 consensus DLman coming out of high school, but he gets switched to offensive line before he finally transfers to Tulane. It certainly makes me question what the heck they have been doing with the position lately. I'm not knocking them, just questioning.

Those whom claim Louisiana has no talent at DT are delusional. There are hidden gems all over the state! There always has been, and there always will be.

We're not going to be good next year. 2 years from now we might make a push.

Boo frickin hooo.... Ask Glen Dorsey or Chad Lavilas about double teams........

The Freak is an OVERRATED SUBPAR player. No nice way to face facts. I thought Freak was going to be an All American but he isn't even ALL SEC.

Remember Michael brockers Bennie Logan lavar Edwards? How bout Mingo Montgomery? All those were coached by the current coaching staff and have done very well for themselves highly ranked underrated etc. all were drafted and all have been doing fairly well outside of Montgomery. We don't have near the depth this year so they got gassed vs Bama but they have also underachieved and there are multiple reasons for that but hopefully they come back and change that.

Believe it or not Johnson is predicted to go high in the 2nd round. I looked it up! I could not beleave it.

There is zero information that is valid on this right now.

Your source could be right...or could be very wrong.

During the Off the Bench interview with Tommy Moffitt, he mentioned that Herron, Gilmore, and Bain were...and I'm doing my best to quote him here...not fit enough to play a single series in SEC football.

He mentioned they have made progress and should be good.

Did anyone else hear this? LINK

While I truly believe you are a moron you are right on one account.

GusM and his staff are getting 150% out their players.
Les Miles and staff aren't and haven't gotten anywhere close to that from their team this football season.
It's almost too late now, most people don't care.

We're falling behind our competition at this most important position. Bama rolled in Ashawn last year and now Deshawn Hand - top DL in this year's class. Can't miss guys. And were bringing in decent guys. That's the difference in these two teams. Our defensive line was getting blown off ball at end of game and theirs was crushing our OL. frick all these dbs, need DLS.

Glenn Dorsey and chad lavilas had great supporting casts on the dline. They both started more than one year.

I think he goes before Johnson. Can't see either one going before the 4th round.

I hope EGo and Freak stay, but doubt they will. Locuture looks like he will be good. Thomas may not even turn out to be as good as Ego or Freak. Gilmore, Herron, and Bain are worse than those 4. We need a JUco DT in this class in a big way.

IMO, it's not for a lack of raw talent. We're simply not developing their skills. Detillier noted in DandyDon that Freak doesn't know how to use his hands. I find that disturbing. A 3rd yea player who still doesn't know the basics of DL play.

We'll that may be Freaks fault. We've got guys in the league who have been coached up then there's the Rahim Aleem type guys who just won't be improved.

quote's like this always amaze me. So Haley can develop a three star benny logan, a four star d.e. brockers but he can't develop a five star tackle in freak. He taught them how to use their hands but not freak. Here is a thought, maybe anythony isn't good. maybe, just maybe, it's anythony and not the coach.

You would think all these, lawyers, business owners, factory managers, job world travelers, would grasp that concept. He develops 3 wnd 4 star players into rookie starters and 1st round picks, but a 5* DT (#1 at his position) can't get going and it's on the coach's fault?

People must forget

4* Glen Dorsey 1st round 5th overall
3* Tyson Jackson 1st round 3rd overall
4* Michael Brockers 1st round 14th overall
4* Barkevius Mingo 1st round 6th overall
4* Drake Nevis 3rd round
3* Bennie Logan 3rd round
4* Sam Montgomery 3rd round (they were saying tail end of 1st round before he started acting crazy)

Do you people want me to start naming off all the DBs and LBs too who were 3 and 4 stars and are STARTING year one in the NFL?

Lucky with lower rated players? Where have yall's brain gone? When was the recent 5* defensive freak to actually play like a 5* not named Patrick?
