Today's Advocate article reads like eulogy for LSU Football

After the past decade — even with two BCS titles, three SEC crowns and a gaudy .816 winning percentage — it’s reasonable to wonder whether a down cycle is at hand for LSU. It’s almost inevitable now. Tick off the names of similar peers in the sport’s 1 percent that have endured their own strife: Nebraska, Florida State, Miami, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan and now Texas. None has gone extinct, but they’ve seen briefly how the other half lives. The normal college football life cycle may be unfolding as usual — just with Alabama and LSU at different points in the process. That realization can do little to ebb angst among a segment of Tigers fans worried about what lies ahead.
Who the frick is Matthew Harris?

That's awful. Saban is on 60 min, The Advocate is bashing LSU, the media is laughing at the Tigers and more.
Miles will have them ready. I know this because I post on message boards.

How is he not right? Our defense is Swiss cheese and the offense isn't good enough to make up for it. The Ole Miss loss started this. Alabama and Texas A&M will finish it.
8-4 around here will be considered a massive failure and the negativity will take over.
It isn't so much that the team will be 8-4 and have had a down season. It is the NEGATIVITY against Miles that will sink this ship. It will grow and grow.
People leaving games early . . .
Constant criticism . . .
Every half-way decent player we have going pro early even if they are a 6th round pick or UDFA . . .
College football programs cannot sustain this over the long haul. LSU is not meeting its valley.
Honestly, all of the guys leaving early on Defense is the real culprit. Over half of them weren't ready to go, but they left anyway. They all saw themselves as stars and that came from the 2011 season. But, they weren't. 2011 continues to wreak vengence on the LSU program.

Deployed. I admit I haven't been able to keep up this year.

With a brand new offense next year, he may be correct actually. Difference is, with the incoming class the next couple years, I see us in a 2 year down cycle not a 5-8 year cycle. And by down I mean 3-4 loss seasons not disastrous.

8-4? Fair value? We could go 8-4 with a million dollar a year coach.

This article pretty much sums up the attitude of the negatiger rantards since the Ole Miss game.

Matthew Harris' writing is exactly what the Advocate wants. They want attention in a dying business.
Same as CNNSI hiring Thayer Evans and that other shitstirring douche.

All of this does seem like overkill, and I'm not ready to jump off of a cliff, but...
February (whatever day signing day is) will be the biggest day of Les Miles' post 1/9/12 career. LSU has to haul in a slam dunk recruiting class. We can't afford to strike out with the big time recruits in our state this year. 2013 is the absolute worst year to have a down season.

FIFY. The very idea that people are mad because someone at the Advocate dares to write a negative article about LSU or Les Miles troubles me. The Advocate isn't supposed to be the LSU Pravda or Der Sturmer. The journalists aren't supposed to write stuff that always feels good or puts LSU in a positive light. There are plenty of writers that do that. I have no problem with this Matthew Harris guy giving a counterpoint to the usual sunshine pumping Advocate writers.

These articles are going to be great recruiting tools for Bama.
LSU is one of the baddest programs around, advocate needs to chill the fcuk out.

To "Tiger Brigade" - Thanks for serving our great country.
While I disagree with some of the article, Mr. Harris makes some good, valid, and accurate points, (and you actually have to have an education to understand some of the language). He spoke his mind, and the last time I checked that was still allowed in the U.S.
Specifically, I strongly disagree with LSU heading down the road to mediocrity. And I don't think LSU will have a mass exodus to the NFL like we had last year. QB is a concern for next year.
We need a big win this weekend, then everything will be good!!!

Doesn't Harris know that we already have a Guilbeau who spews this crap daily? Does Guilbeau know that this jackass is encroaching on his turf?
I'd pay $30 to watch a PPV knife fight between the two...

he's not a journalists. He's an opinion writer. Journalist actually investigate and report facts, no opinion. Unfortunately, there are very few journalist anymore. everything is opinion masked in journalism.
