Star Wars Galaxies is my favorite game of all time. Played SWTOR - not for me.

Played WoW - Not for me

Played City of heroes. 2nd favorite MMO of all time.

I like lots of customization, player driven economies, and engaging combat that can be soloed.

Also, thanks for the sympathy. They've been holding the gun to our heads for so long, you almost just want them to pull the trigger to get some relief. 6 month old, mortgage, 1 car note and paying out of pocket for my wife's master's degree. Gonna be in a tough spot if they can me.

I was always partial to Sword2. Kept my interest for a good while.

I went through something eerily similar in 2008/2009...I think I spent my spare time playing Runes of Magic (ROM). Like you said you get to the point where you just want to get it over with so you can get some closure and move in. Godspeed.

You really should give Neverwinter a quick go. While it may not fit the theme you like, it does offer a great amount of customization. You can create your own levels and play others' levels. It also has a different control system that adds a FPS type feel with the target in the middle of the screen.

While Perfect World games are horrible for pvp (since they are pay to win) the constantly rotating event schedule that goes on throughout the entire day takes the grind feel out of it. I've enjoyed a handful of their games and find myself going back to them when I have a lot of free time vs only a few hours a week to play.

Recently I've just been beta testing and seeing games a few months into launch before the next beta comes along. I find enjoyment in watching the games develop and providing feedback where I can.

ETA: I have read a few good things about Firefall, but have not tried it personally. It looks interesting from the few videos i've seen.

You just described eve to a tee.
You can even solo combat for awhile as long as your in the safer sectors. Not to mention you can play for free if you spend lots of time on it and are really good.
