MMO suggestions

Just wanted to see if any new MMO's are coming out or are out that i don't know about. I'm not a huge PC gamer. I've played DayZ, WoW, GW2, Borderlands2, and Arma 3. That's about all i have played on PC I was pretty much a console guy until a friend talked me into playing on PC and haven't looked back. Anyways, i've been on a GW2 kick of late while waiting for the DayZ standalone to drop. (Which could be forever)
What I wanted to know is there any new games coming out that how the same play style as WoW or GW2? Or are there other games out there that are like WoW or GW2 that y'all think i may enjoy? I already got 2 80's on GW2 and see myself getting bored with it before DayZ standalone drops. TIA

I have played most MMO's out there None really hold me for long, but Neverwinter is great until you max level. I don't PVP.

^ can be said about the vast majority of MMO's these days. I think it has more to do with being able to get to the cap so quick and not having to work at anything to get there. Yeah Neverwinter is a pretty good one for a few months and has some really cool new things to offer the MMO world.

I might be getting laid off soon, so I will be needing a MMO while I job search.

Sorry to hear that, and I hope it all works itself out. Which ones have you played in the past and what parts of them did you enjoy the most? Like Dourden I've played and/or tested more than i can count, and we could probably point you in the right direction.

Star Wars Galaxies is my favorite game of all time. Played SWTOR - not for me.
Played WoW - Not for me
Played City of heroes. 2nd favorite MMO of all time.
I like lots of customization, player driven economies, and engaging combat that can be soloed.
Also, thanks for the sympathy. They've been holding the gun to our heads for so long, you almost just want them to pull the trigger to get some relief. 6 month old, mortgage, 1 car note and paying out of pocket for my wife's master's degree. Gonna be in a tough spot if they can me.

I was always partial to Sword2. Kept my interest for a good while.

I'd say WoW and GW2 are the big 2 right now.
You might want to check out Neverwinter or Rift, though.

I went through something eerily similar in 2008/2009...I think I spent my spare time playing Runes of Magic (ROM). Like you said you get to the point where you just want to get it over with so you can get some closure and move in. Godspeed.
You really should give Neverwinter a quick go. While it may not fit the theme you like, it does offer a great amount of customization. You can create your own levels and play others' levels. It also has a different control system that adds a FPS type feel with the target in the middle of the screen.
While Perfect World games are horrible for pvp (since they are pay to win) the constantly rotating event schedule that goes on throughout the entire day takes the grind feel out of it. I've enjoyed a handful of their games and find myself going back to them when I have a lot of free time vs only a few hours a week to play.
Recently I've just been beta testing and seeing games a few months into launch before the next beta comes along. I find enjoyment in watching the games develop and providing feedback where I can.
ETA: I have read a few good things about Firefall, but have not tried it personally. It looks interesting from the few videos i've seen.

I wonder if Defiance still has a community on PS3, or the same wonderings about DC Universe online.
My PC is too old these days to run anything of note, so I'm relegated to the PS3 / 4 when it drops.
PC to come next year, if I have a job.

These are two good suggestions. My longest time is in EQ then WoW, then Atlantica Online.
Other than the two suggested here are the ones I would recommend and all have a free trial.
EQ2 - Fun game with housing and different style crafting
Age of Conan - Really liked it when it came out, but ran out of things to do, but that was years ago.
Atlantica Online - Very different than any mmo you will play, turn based controlling up to 9, player plus 8 mercs. This game does just about everything you know about MMOs differently, and can be played without touching the cash shop.

haven't gamed since the 2nd week of GW2..like a year
rift, star wars, secret world, GW2..I believe in that order was the last I played
If I had to right now...I'd go back starwars and build from scratch....GW2 really let me down from 4 years expectations...made me quit gaming.

Wildstar and Elder Scrolls Online are the next two MMOs I can think of.

You just described eve to a tee.
You can even solo combat for awhile as long as your in the safer sectors. Not to mention you can play for free if you spend lots of time on it and are really good.

I agree that he did but it's the one game that I tried in I that hated the most. If they have a free trial he should give it a go and see if he likes it. Games with monthly fees will only keep those that are vested I think WoW and EVE are the only two big ones left.
