For those that don't have the opportunity to fish/hunt year round, the meat of the season is around the corner with white tail rifle and duck. It cannot get here soon enough.

It's nice to know a kick fire will be on the weekend menu for a couple months, along with shite cell service, no Friday work (for most part), friends, family, cold beer, etc...

I'm somewhere in the 8 to 9 range.

It stresses the hell out of my gf, wallet, and workload.

Hunting season is a pain in my arse.

Love the flow of a hunting season. The whole thing is exciting.

1. Dust off the shotgun and shoot doves
2. Finalize prep for bow season
3. Bow Season begins
4. Rifle Season begins
5. Duck Season begins
6. Rut Begins!
7. Big ducks show up!
8. Bucks show up!
9. Do I chase bucks or shoot ducks?
10. Crashes to a halt…

Begin at 1 again next year.

This hunting season is going to suck arse for me. I gave up my lease and won't have time to go back to the family's spread around the Mecca much this season. I've scheduled the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's off of work, but don't have much faith in that materializing then. I've got an 8 month old and 3 projects about to start out of the ground in the next 3 weeks.

I'll let Billy Bob from Varsity Blues sum up my feelings on hunting season this year.

This year is a 10 for me. This past year has been the busiest of my life work wise. This past weekend was my first at the camp and it was glorious even though the hunting sucked. Just glad to be out of the rat race for a couple days and spend time with my Dad and Uncles. The rest of this year should be more laid back for me, so I plan on making a couple more deer trips with some yak fishing mixed in. After the holidays, I plan on making several rabbit hunts.

I don't think I ever feel as good as when the sun is coming up and I'm in the middle of nature and nature doesn't know I'm there.
