It's a staple for people who think they are part of the ultimate solutions for LSU's football program.

BCS 2012: the ONE time LSU was not ready to play against Bama and it was bad
this is such BS
LSU was ready to play, they were prepared to play the same BAMA they played in November. the staff pulled out the most effective game plan they had to win in Tuscaloosa and they were all out of ideas in NOLA. Unfortunately BAMA had used the month to prepare very effectively and they did some things that LSU had no answer for.
What was LSU supposed to do? JJ couldnt throw the ball, LSU couldnt run the ball and the play action/use of the TE by BAMA gave LSU fits.
LSU just got beat that night. shite happens

I didn't mention the pre Saban era, but his teams were ready in both 2005 and 2006 as well.
?; Both 05 & 06 CLM and both W's. 05 Gumps were 10-0 I think.
I agree they will play off their feet this game but come up a bit short ala 09 perhaps in all reallity.
The NCG (12) will always be one of those strange mysteries with me especially to witness live!

I agree 100% with you. I will be very surprised if this isn't a very tight game in the 4th.
That said, I think your post also kind of illustrates some of the frustration that LSU fans have with Les. While he can get his group sky high to play the "big" games, there are also many times where he brings them out "flat" (or they get "flat" as the game goes on) against "lesser" teams. He's gotten lucky in that until Ole Miss, LSU has escaped with wins in most of those types of games (see, UNC-'10; UT-'10; MSU-'09, Ark.-'12)
I am as negative an LSU fan as I know, but over the last 5 years NO ONE but LSU has been able to match Alabama man-for-man. Les deserves much of the credit for that. It's Les's lack of consistency from game to game, as opposed to Alabama's, that frustrates the avg. fan though.
Over the last 9 years (with a few exceptions) the following have generally proved to be true:
1. LSU will always play Alabama tough and always has a shot to win the game late (especially in Tuscaloosa)
2. Regardless of the records, LSU v. Ole Miss will be a close game with LSU generally fiding a way to win.
3. Regardless of the records, LSU v. Ark. will be a tight game with bad Ark. teams finding a way to win far more than they should.

Point taken but were those other teams as unprepared as we were?? I think not. We showed up to provide the azz for the azz whuppin and nothing more.

It happens. Move the frick along. It's done. Over. I don't understand the point of hanging on to it for so long.
If you've truly moved on then you wouldn't be so upset to see it mentioned.

1. nobody is pretending it didn't happen
2. get the frick over it

Yeah, you're over it. Suuure you are.
The only thing I am curious about today is whether or not Delahoussaye is hurt (and if he is related to the HOF jockey).

So 3-4 last 7 years against Bama. If we win this year we will be 4-4. Why do people act like Bama dominates us?

Something DID happen before that game.
Saban went to Bama in 2007
Miles came to LSU in 2005.
NC Game rationalized.

What worries me re: this game vs those games is that I feel like we have always matched up personnel-wise with Bama, so our players were good enough that playing their best game of the year was enough to beat Bama or keep it very close.
I'm not sure the defense this year has the players to stop Bama no matter how "up" we get for the game.
You're right, we are going to be up for this game, so if they destroy us, then we'll know we really don't have the players right now to stay with them.
If we lose close, at least we'll know we still have the players and that will quiet some of the "the programs are going opposite directions" talk.
Of course, that would be another 3-loss season, so only LSU fans will still argue that Bama isn't leaving us behind.
Les needs a win to restore some faith.

I hate that this thread turned into a bitch-fest about the 2012 title game...but consider these teams:
2001: Florida State blows through everyone in the regular season except a powerful Miami team, to whom they lost by 3 points. Beside that loss and a 5 point win vs. Georgia Tech early in the year, nobody was within 21 points of them all year. BCS result: a 13-2 loss to Oklahoma. shite happens.
2005: Undefeated and powerful Oklahoma gets clubbed by USC in the Orange Bowl 55-19. Think they saw that one coming?

2011: Looking back on it, Bama was the better team, but the LSU team went in there and gutted it out.
People say this, but I don't get how anyone could watch that game and say either team was necessarily better than the other. They were pretty darn even the whole game. Both teams failed to capitalize on opportunities, and both team failed to score anything more than 3 points at a time.
I think the the apparent equality of the teams in that game is what made 1/9/2012 so stunning. Had we lost or won by 7 points or less nobody would have been surprised. Losing by 21 points? That was shocking.

2012: LSU facing #1 Bama again and was the better team for 58 minutes, but fell short.
Dude. LSU was down 14-3 at the half and 14-10 going into the 4th. LSU was definitely the better team for the first 13 minutes of the 4th qtr, but to say they were better for 58 minutes is a bit of revisionist history.

minimum 3 loss season.
could be 4 or 5, with a bowl loss.
the new normal under Miles

Hey man, I am giving Bama credit for coming through when it mattered, but LSU outplayed Bama that game on offense and defense. Same can be said about the 2011 regular season matchup. I think Bama outplayed LSU, but LSU won on the scoreboard.
