He looks young to me but not sure if it is just the way he is standing. Head and neck look small.

Had pics of a big 9 still in velvet on oct 6th. When I wasn't hunting. Not cool.

Yes still in velvet taken North of St. Francisville off hwy. 967 where our family land is. The date is correct. I have other pics with this deer and another decent buck in that has no velvet.

Hard to tell from that pic, but I'd guess 3 1/2

The last few years have been rough for me not sure about you guys. I only shoot mature bucks and was able to kill a nice one last year(not a wall hanger though) but that was the first one in the past 3 years. 4-5 years ago it was nothing for me to see 15-30 deer a hunt, now I am luck to see 5-10 not sure what has happened except maybe the people who hunt around us have decided to kill more.

I'm going to say 2 1/2 years old. At least, that is what my hope would be if I hunted that area.

Ive heard this same thing from just about everyone I know that hunts this parish. Added hunting pressure, hogs, predators, loss of habitat, etc could all be factors I guess. Biologist seem to agree since they changed the season around and stated that they wanted to decrease numbers of deer killed by 30% or something like that. Its certainly depressing

2.5-3.5 at most.
If I had to bet a pinky,I would say 2.5.
