Living in hotels/airports and only being home around 40 hours a week isn't all its cracked up to be.

But in the consulting world, thats the sacrifice you make.

If you are single, it is fantastic. Although, it can make meeting and sustaining new friendships/relationships more difficult.

Travel makes life more affordable...but it can be a PITA after a long haul.

I just finished an 11 week back-and-forth engagement. Couple weeks at home and about to start another eight week project. The variety, exposure and perks of the job are second to none though.

However, I do not understand how 45 year olds with a family travel this much.

I like my gig as it relates to travel. Usually 3 times a month but rarely over 2 nights away from home.
