This team needs to start playing like they're hungry for a title again. Needs to resurrect the swagger we had in 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2011. Eye of the Tiger.

Our 2007 defense was a bit over rated imo. Our offense made them look a little better. So I feel we have a legit shot this year if a couple defensive players step up and our oline stays healthy.

Honestly right now I cant tell with any of the SEC teams right now... a lot (including our 2) are still working through some improvements by week 6 though there will be some clarity in the SEC picture

The only team i have figured out is atm. Very good offense, JFF makes plays but usually has a couple bad decision plays somehow they work out for him. Didnt last year against LSU and Florida but do most of the time. Defense sucks, but they only need a handful of stops to win. They are a bad matchup I think for us but looking forward to seeing them against Ole Miss. Should be an entertaining game. As far as a serious contender, we have so many difficult games with potential losses. I think on any given week we can beat any team. Just not sure we can make it through this stretch without a loss or two. Give me one game and I think we are as good as anyone.

If Miles can not win it this year with this team, I seriously doubt he ever will repeat 2007. A senior QB, outstanding OL, All American type RB, super WR combo, a talented and improving defense, veteran coaching staff. If not this year when??? Maybe I am setting myself up to be crushed but they should take it all. We were close the last three years with a LOT less at key positions.

The defense will be the key? If they improve we have a chance. WE also need to see what happens when a team really pressures and hurries Mett. When he has time our receivers can get open and he has been incredibly accurate. When rushed is when we have issues. I really like our team and what we are building for in the future.

It's sad when the Gumps are more confident in our team than half of our own fans.

Well,I wouldn't say it's sad because someone wants to live in reality...because the defense has not earned any confidence yet...look, the DL is soft at times, the LBs are not outstanding, and the DBs are not even settled in yet...and I'm usually a sunshine pumper...lol...but it's gonna' get real this weekend, one way or the other...lol...it's high time for the D to step up...what ya' got, Chief?

and improving defense

Really?

What was improved from TCU to Auburn?

Auburn rushed for almost 250 yards and they don't have the Georgia ground game.

It was wet against Auburn so maybe it wasn't a true picture of the defense, but I don't see a BCSCG defense at all for LSU.

Dont forget that a lot of those rush yards were in the second half when LSU was making sure to take away the pass (i know we gave up 2 long balls). Yardage stats dont always tell the story well. In the case of the Auburn game, they dont tell the story at all. LSU dominated for 90% of the game. Any time Auburn scored, LSU went right back down and scored at will.

Auburn had about 100 yds at half

I just rewatched the first half...yes, we can score with the best of them...but, so can Georgia...sorry but our defense still has a long way to go...Ego is the only outstanding DLman right now...the others have their moments, but not consistently....jmho

Do I have anything to do but log onto websites and ask rhetorical questions?

Evidently not.

Louisville has a cakewalk in addition to the winners of the marquis matchups you mentioned.

Except that an undefeated Louisville isn't making it over a 1 loss LSU that wins the SEC Championship Game.

This team would likely win it all with Alabama's schedule. With the one we got shoved up our arse, IDK.
