You're assuming no juice. But yes, it is more profitable. The problem is you're susceptible to line movement while waiting for the second game.
If you're betting online most books have "if" parlays where you can work out the games you like and then say "If Ga Tech -6 covers then I'll bet X amount on Tenn, if Tenn covers I'll bet x on...". Good way to lock in lines if you think they will move and not have to commit so much money to a bunch of separate bets.
