Ever been to a place with menus with no prices?

I guess maybe it's a thing of the past but I remember my mom telling me back in the day if you went on a date at a fancy restaurant they would give the woman a menu that didn't have prices on it.
Anyone heard of this? I haven't seen it. Then again, I'm a guy

I went to a place in Paris that did this.
Never seen it in the US.

I've seen a few "farm to table" type restaurants that do this since their menu changes so frequently
It will just say "Market Price"

I've seen places like that, which is different than a place with a menu for women with no prices and men with the prices.
Has anyone seen that in the US? Where, if so?

Yeah, I thought it was implied that I was talking about that.
Guess not!

I feel like I remember nice restaurants doing this when I was a kid.

Seafood is seasonal and availibility driven on prices that the restaurant is paying for the products.

I (female) haven't personally encountered a priceless, gender specific menu anywhere in the US or Europe. I do, from time to time, still encounter a waiter who will automatically give the wine list to my (male) better half, which strikes me as rather old school sexist. Why not just put it on the table or offer it and ask if you want to see it?
Have encountered plenty of menus with "market", which seems lazy in this day and age of laser printing. If your menu changes each night, write in the damn price. People hate asking for prices.

I was playing around on google and saw many people talk about this in France. One guy said a restaurant in Calabasas did that.
But no, never seen an all ladies priceless menu. Also, it's 2013. She pays half the time we go out, don't expect the man to always pay.lol

Showing my age, but yes, I remember it. Old restaurant in N.O., T'Pitari's, used to do this. Took a date there before a dance ib high school. Date whispered in my ear: "Do you have enough money for this?"

See, I don't mind this. As a server in a casual restaurant, I automatically hand the bill to the male.. or in a group, to the man who has made it obvious through body language that he is the host/one paying.
I don't hand out a wine list unless someone asks, but I imagine I wouldn't think much about handing it to one person over the other, so I'd probably just hand it to the man.
Personally, I find it incredibly attractive for my SO to pick out a drink and order us each one.

I have seen it. Gotta be a super high end type of good ole boys restaurant tho. It was a gender specific menu without prices, none of them had it.

Whatever floats your boat. I'd like to make my own food and beverage choices, thanks. My tipping percentage will definitely be thinner when a server makes the mistaken assumption that I'm not the host of a business luncheon simply because I'm female (or short, LOL). Alpha male body language and/or gender aren't the best indicator of who's paying the tab. Most servers I encounter have moved beyond the "hand the dude the check" attitude, fortunately.
