Same people on here bashing me, will be calling for Les's job by week 7. I know Les's is the best coach in LSU history, and replacing that many starters is not going to be easy. After the smoke clears it goes back to one saying OFFENSE fills the stands and DEFENSE wins Championships.

A little early in the season for that. plus 2008 wasn't that many years ago and they straight up sucked.

So by your logic the score in the LSU/UGA game should be 81-80. Have you seen their defense? I'd take LSU's defense over Georgia's any day.

All that said. I expect the UGA game to be a very good one.

You're dumb. Last week we held a top 20 team to 250 total yards. This week uab had all of one sustained drive.

No shite. LSU could be 7-0 and dumb fricks will be dumb fricks.

and replacing that many starters is not going to be easy
So why not give them time to get it right instead of posting....

Defense Lacks Playmakers
Which is premature and lacks any foresight at all.

Defense has issues, hopefully things will iron out by game 4. They aren't bad, but aren't overwhelmingly good.

I agree the defense lacks playmakers, but it's not too late for some to emerge.

TCU a top 20 team ok you should not be able to even go to a computer and type. TCU will not be in the top 60 in a few weeks.

With 8 starters lost on defense, do you the expect the defense to be better in games 1 and 2 in Sept OR better in Oct/Nov?

Everyone knew this defense would be on a learning curve. So far, so good, but continuing progression is needed. Anyone that expected this defense to roll out like 2011 or 2003 defense is a fool.

Wow what a bunch of Whiners. Stop bitching we aren't going to play top notch against fricking uab. Our defense is good but we weren't giving it our all to prevent injuries. Hell could you imagine how many of you would bitch If one of our starters were injured and couldn't play against Georgia or bama? Enjoy our team and try to be positive for once

I don't think I stated I expected the defense to be top notch in game one. I'm a bit mystified by some who think it is.

It's got some growing pains but I expect it to improve and key personnel to step up in a couple of weeks.

I responded to you, but my response was more general audience.

The defense needs to get better, but I thought that was a given considering the circumstances. I don't think we lack playmakers, we're just playing to find them. A work in progress.

Anyone that expected different or is overreacting now just doesn't get it.

I think we do, and have been since TM left. PP, Claiborne and TM spoiled us. In the future, I think White may be that guy.

And really, if the offense plays well, we don't need an unbelievable D. We need a good D that bends, but doesn't break. In the previous years we needed an awesome D because we had nada on offense.

I think there's a comfort level. TM is just an enigma. The best head on a swivel defensive disruptor and playmaker naturally I've ever seen. I doubt there's a TM on this team just because of the rarity.

But, once players begin to settle in and know their responsibilities without having to think about it, you will see some of the natural talent on the defense - players not reacting with their head, but their instincts.

The only real concern I have is Loston because he continually takes terrible angles and plays slower to the game than he should. I would think that would be beyond him now.
