KC is usuallya pretty underrated bbq town. Even StL has some GREAT eats. My favorite bbq is some good brats on gameday at Arrowhead. KC masterpiece isn't actually what we usually use though(if you didn't know). Believe it or not Kraft bbq sauce is much better if you wanna save some $. If you havent tried it, you definately should!

what kind of bbq's do you guys like?

Best? Memphis

Underrated? Nashville - a perfect blend between Memphis and North Carolina style.

Overrated? Austin and the surrounding area - I've been to Stubb's, Lamberts, Salt Lick and The County Line. They weren't bad, but none were memorable. Maybe I should try Franklin bbq when I head back.

Just moved to north atlanta and I have been to a few really good places. Although coming from BR that might not be saying much. For everything that Louisiana does well culinary wise, bbq it certainly does not

How is KC underrated? It's probably the most famous.

Best id say is Luling, TX or Lockhart, TX. Luling has 2 places, Lockhart 4 but they are all authentic Texas BBQ.. The best in the country

BBQ is the weak link in Louisana's culinary armor.

Birmingham. Serious answer.

From Saws to Jim and Nicks to Demetris to Full Moon to Myra's to Dreamland to Golden Rule. You can find a good BBQ joint in any neighborhood, and in my opinion, Saws can compete with any BBQ restaurant in the country.

...after further thought, the correct answer may be Kingston, Jamaica.

Jerk ftw.

Memphis is best. Birmingham is most underrated. Eastern Tennessee has some nice small town BBQ joints that blend several styles together.

From Saws

Saws was very good when I had it a couple of months ago. Birmingham is an all around underrated food town. Doesn't the chef at Hot and Hot Fish Club run a BBQ restaurant at well?
