The manager of the restaurant said it was real.
And that it was a takeout order and it was "generous".
I usually tip 2 bucks or so for takeout orders, depending on what they have to do, so its fine.
Edit: I'm mistaken, he does not confirm it was real, only that IF its real, it is generous compared to what they usually get.

$3 for takeout is generous. Although I'm sure some former/current server will tell us how he's a terrible person for tipping less than 20%.

That is pretty fricking cheap on his part. I tip 10% on take out. Most of these workers are making peanuts. Just me but if I was ordering food from a place on a regular basis, take out or not, not going to leave them a $3 tip that is for damn sure. Not when they are preparing my food!

The tip goes to the wait staff...who does nothing in take out situations.

I guess I should have stated that I always make sure the tip goes to the cooks. I always contact the manager working to make sure that it does go to the cooks. Then again I always order pretty much from the same places so they know now.

its kind of bad taste. the total was plus 70. it takes more time to prepare and to box and side items. hes rich. atleast throw the girl 5 bucks. whats two more bucks..or even ten bucks. plus why not brighten up the servers day if u can

I can see doing this if you frequent a place.
But this is some random place that Brees is probably never gonna go back to in California.
