There is nothing more to hear about the case. It's up to the judge to decide if Hill's probation will be revoked. I know of multiple people close to the situation that feels revocation is a long shot.

From your link, the "previous section":

quote:

§80. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile

A. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when:
(1) A person who is seventeen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is thirteen years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender and when the difference between the age of the victim and the age of the offender is four years or greater; or...

D.(1) Whoever commits the crime of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile shall be fined not more than five thousand dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than ten years, or both, provided that the defendant shall not be eligible to have his conviction set aside or his prosecution dismissed in accordance with the provisions of Code of Criminal Procedure Article 893.

Hill plead guilty to misdemeanor carnal knowledge.

First of all, Skip Bertman has no say in the matter.

Second of all, if true, it is fricking beyond ridiculous that we will lose a major impact player to offseason disciplinary issues for the second consecutive season.

Third, if true, I still won't be able to understand how Hill lost his entire LSU career as a result of a routine bar fight.

That's right. The original felony charge was plea bargained down.

The only differences I see:

quote:

Misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when a person who is seventeen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is thirteen years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender, and when the difference between the age of the victim and age of the offender is greater than two years, but less than four years.

Soooo... Misdemeanor, right?

And that may be the case. I don't know how they count years. Hill turned 18 at midnight which was about 2 hours after the incident happened.

My apologies. Throwing together Rant comments between actual, you know, work can be hazardous.

Here's the point in "Engrish":

The more I hear about this case, its seems more plausible that what Skip says has a lot of validity.

I don't really want to go into details on why I think this.

And there's a reason for that and it doesn't have anything to do with Hill being a football player.

I'm guessing since she was already 14 for some time, and he just turned 18, you're look at less than 4 years. In other words 3 years and a day does not equal 4 years.

so, stop calling it a felony. There is a provision for a felony instance of this and there is a provision for a misdemeanor instance of this.

To put it simply, you were wrong when you said:
quote:

An 18 year old adult male (he turned 18 the next day) taking a 14 year old juvenile female into the boys restroom in order to make her give him a BJ is a felony.

It's almost always the case for a plea. It doesn't mean he didn't commit a felony.

Bottom line, Hill followed that up with behavior that he should have abstained from. Whatever Miles decides, whether it's suspension or termination is just.

I don't even know what this means. As I have heard it told, someone approached Hill and his friend and verbally insulted them. At that point, fisticuffs ensued. Later, it was the friend, not Hill, who punched the instigator from behind.

IN any event, that sounds like an entirely run-of-the-mill bar fight to me. One big drunk guy talks trash to another big drunk guy, punches result.

The video of the incident does not support this.

Hill sucker punched the other guy from the side rear as the guy was staggering. The guy didn't go down. So another thug came up behind the 'punchee' and hit him again, knocking him down.

It doesn't mean he did commit a felony either.

No one disagrees. Expulsion would be harsh IMO, but I could see the reason for it.

If Hill weren't already in trouble, he may get a game suspension at most out of the fight. Unfortunately, he was.
