What else is there to discuss about the past few years? This is exactly what Miles's detractors have accused him of. He is fully admitting it.

Whether or not you want to call it "calling the plays" is irrelevant. Les has had a heavy hand on the play-calling that has led to low-ranked offenses.

"But I don't call a play"...well duh, Coach.

Along with those many, many losses?

What some of you seem to forget is the point of a football game is to win, not rack up a bunch of stats. Les wins. That is the bottom line. If you personally are not sufficiently entertained by the method, the problem is with you not with Les.

Not that I'm happy with the offense, because I'm not, but for full disclosure... whoever is leading this team (and calling the plays) in the last two seasons has led LSU to a national title game and within one defensive stop to a possible second consecutive SEC/national title game.

So, as bad/mediocre as the offense has been, we're obviously doing something right on a macro level.

We don't need wholesale changes...we just need incremental improvement on offense and I think we will be exactly where we want to be.

Pick up a few more 3rd down conversions, get a few more TDs instead of FGs in the red zone, and I think LSU is in prime position to continue competing for championships, just as we have been even with a poor offense.

he's also had a heavy hand on the play-calling that has led to high-ranked offenses, on the defense, and on the special teams.

you wanna know why? cuz he's the head fricking coach

Our offense had problems, but so did the defense in holding leads when the game was on the line.

Defense seemed to be gassed at the end of both of those games because the offense couldn't sustain drives. Offense had issues executing and the defense had to carry them most of the season.

Cam's approach will hopefully erase this style of thinking, as offenses are supposed to score points every time they get the ball. This is their primary objective. We haven't had pride on that side of the ball in terms of extending leads and ending games. Against Bama, had we been used to extending leads we may have thrown it on 3rd & 10 in Bama's territory to win the game with our offense, instead of running a worthless power toss to line it up for an inconsistent kicker. These are the little things that hopefully Cam changes, that is, the offense's confidence in winning a game. Not just wearing down an opponent in the 2nd half because your defense never allows points. Not taking the ability to win out of your offense's hands because you've yet to throw the ball in the 4th quarter all season.

Gassed out?

Are you fricking kidding me?

The LSU offense controlled the ball 40 minutes in the Alabama game.

In the Clemson game that excuse might work, but even in that game they were gassed partly because they were giving up almost 500 yards of offense.

Actually 3 running plays against Clemson would've won the game. The back to back incomplete passes allowed Clemson to keep their timeouts and win in the last seconds.

I'm more interested in the fact that LSU didn't throw the ball even once in the 4th Q. I didn't know that. Thanks

I'm not digging up the quote or reading this thread to see if its been mentioned, but Mles has taken over play calling in critical/crucial situations

Actually, if Zack doesn't miss a wide open receiver at the LOS by five yards we would've won the game and if the defense doesn't allow a forth and 16 from the Clemson 20 to be completed we would have won the game.
