Let's have a GB Roundtable: What are the best games of this console generation?

Best First Person Shooter: Battlefield 3 (I wanted to give this to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for blazing the trail of how I play military FPS games. It popped my cherry online and really was a building block for how modern military FPS games are modeled. The thing is Battlefield 3 took everything that is good in FPS games and made them better and left out a lot of cheese. Plus, there is immense value and replayability in BF3. All hail the king.)
Best Third Person Shooter: Ghost Recon Future Soldier (This game is incredibly solid, but has a very small community. I don't have a lot of experience with TPS games, so I guess it's GRFS by default.)
Best Open World Role Playing Game: Saints Row (I don't have a ton of experience here, either, but I had to go with the one RPG I had the most fun with. I also bought GTAIV and found it solid, but a bit...I don't know, cumbersome?)
Best Sports Game: MLB The Show (Easy choice.)
Best Racing Game:
Best Playstation 3 Exclusive: MLB The Show (I haven't played The Last of Us, so I can't nominate it. Although I suspect this is a runaway.)
Best Xbox 360 Exclusive:
Biggest Overall Bust of This Generation: Homefront (Obviously.)
Best Overall Console Game of This Generation: Battlefield 3
Edited to add:
Best Indie Game:
Most Overlooked/Underrated Game (AKA "The Moped"): Medal of Honor Warfighter

Best First Person Shooter:
COD4: MW - opened up pandora's box for every FPS multiplayer game out there today. Great gameplay (still the most fun COD for me). Blazing trails + done exceptionally well = best FPS for me

Best Third Person Shooter:
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
It had everything. Action, fluid game play, great story, great graphics, great cinematics. It improved upon the first game tremendously. Might be my fav of the whole generation

Best Open World Role Playing Game
Skyrim - no argument needed IMO
Honorable mention to inFamous 2

Best Sports Game:
NBA 2k13 - IMO the best sports game - highly debatable

Best Racing Game:
Gran Turismo - just because
quote:
Best Playstation 3 Exclusive:
The Last of Us - nuff said
quote:
Best Xbox 360 Exclusive:
Mass Effect 2 - It was exclusive when it came out. It was the only reason I still had an xbox at one point. One of the greatest games of the Gen easily.

Best First Person Shooter: Call of Duty: World at War
Best Third Person Shooter: Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It encompassed a genre that I love and did it in an exciting manner that kept me going until the credits rolled.
Best Open World Role Playing Game: This is a very narrow specification, if it was just RPG I'd say Witcher 2. Open world RPG I would lean towards Skyrim
Best Sports Game: NBA 2k13
Best Racing Game: Forza
Best Playstation 3 Exclusive: The Last of Us
Best Xbox 360 Exclusive: Dead Rising
Biggest Overall Bust of This Generation: Homefront

such a loooong generation.....i've seen several nominees i agree with, it'd be impossible for me to decide on some of these categories.

It's a goofy-er crazier GTA. Haven't played the newer ones. We need a game brah
Posted on 7/8/13 at 10:15 am to Klark Kent
If you like a less serious GTA, then you might like it.
Its like Just Cause 2 for me. The game isn't all around that great, but it is really fun.

I played the first Saints Row. It was a really fun game...not too serious, but still had a decent story. The later games in the series I didn't play...that's where it got out of control with the ridiculousness.

saints row is hilarious.
III had me cracking the frick up for days and i put many hours into it
IV is coming out soon. I highly recomend grabbing Saints Row III on tha cheap.
helicopers, absurd violence, sexual references, blatant murder, side missions, a funny story. yeah. good times

does it have a co-op? i'd be down for picking it up.
i love GTA, so that'd be right up my alley.
Let's hit up some NBA2K13 this week.
