Extremely shocking and unexpected because he channeled the force to move that old decrepit body around.
Well, I'll agree with that, but I don't mean so in a good way.

I'll admit, I got excited the first time I saw Yoda pulling out that lightsaber. However, I think it would have been MUCH better if, instead of him jumping around all crazy, he simply stood there, calmly side-stepping blows while his lightsaber fought while floating in the air. It would have really punched home the "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter" idea of the force.
Honestly, Yoda should be so powerful that lightsabers are meaningless children's toys to him. Yoda should be capable of killing someone simply by staring at them. The Emperor should have been that powerful as well, and implies it by merely mocking Luke's lightsaber and being fearless in offering it to him. I would have liked a psychic duel between the two of them to where basically a whole building collapses from the awesomeness of it.

Nothing in Star Wars canon indicates this is how the force works. Like I said before, I have read over 50 books in the expanded universe. In neither the movies nor the books has there ever been a single fight like you describe. You obviously went into the movie with your own preconceived ideas of how the movie should turn out and were upset it did not turn out exactly as you wanted. Very similar to the current Man of Steel haters when that movie is absolutely freaking awesome.

Meh. It was alright. It was waaayyyyy better than any of the Star Wars prequels, that's for sure.

If Vader can force choke someone, I don't see any reason why the Emperor couldn't make some's heart instantly explode. I don't think it's much of a jump in logic. If they can throw and rip stuff apart with their minds, I don't see any reason why the most powerful of them couldn't do it to things as large as buildings.

It's not his fault, it's Lucas'. He is horrible with dialogue.
Couldn't have said it better myself. The kid had to say the horribly awkward words Lucas wrote. I doubt Jake Lloyd improved the lines he said while piloting the spaceship on accident. Nor did Hayden make up the "sand" dialogue in Clones....Lucas should get all the blame for writing the worst dialogue ever known to mankind in a movie.

That being said, if you walked out of the theater in 1999 and weren't disappointed there was something wrong with you.

Do people personally hate Ahmad Best or just Jar Jar? I feel bad for the guy. He was a dancer who got a big break to be in Star Wars and his character is universally hated. He was just following orders.

Can you post us a link to that article. I'd like to read it. Seems strange that kids that age would care about Anakin Skywalker enough to constantly tease him long enough tohave that kind of devastating impact. But I'd like to check out that article.
It's an article I read on Cracked.com. It talks about Jake Lloyd at number 5.

Anyone here have any thoughts on that movie?
It was disappointing, sure...but it's nowhere near as bad as people (especially on here) make it out to be. Not even close.

Probably the best of the prequels. RotS is shite. Both are masterpieces compared to AotC

I've read Shadows of the Empire and loved it. It was the only one I could sit through because I know all of the characters because it takes place between the movies. I got Darth Plagius from the library and couldn't read that crap with all of the ridiculously long names and having no idea who was who.

Great light saber fights in all 3 prequels. I think Dooku should have been left out and Maul been used throughout. Dooku sucked and I thought it was a slap in the face to let him escape a duel with Yoda.
I'd go along with that. Dooku talked too much. Darth Maul hardly said anything and he was a badass on top of it. He let his actions speak for him.

I never understood the hate for the prequels. I loved all of them and Episode 3 is my favorite of all 6 films. It is Jedi with lightsabers. There was no possible way I would not love that movie. I have read over 50 books from the expanded universe, so seeing any kind of Jedi on screen is awesome.
Must be very young or just trolling like crazy

. It had lightsabers and Jedi. Did you miss that part? Also, Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor were both awesome. And we got to see Yoda fight. I have watched all 3 prequels many, many times.
Okay, definitely trolling

Definitely not trolling, and I am roughly 30. I am not some movie snob.

Very weak movie. I think at some point Lucas quit trying to make real movies and started making vehicles to sell crap.

Lines like "I don't like sand. It's coursa, and rough, and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth." That's an all time bad line right there that no one would let any writer live down.
agreed. the whole love story in parts 2 and 3 was cringeworthy.
"hold me like you did by the lake on naboo"
