Pretty much the only logical explanation I can think of.

"It's unclear what Portland would send in this trade, and if it's going to Sacramento or New Orleans. Portland has the cap space to absorb Lopez's contract so they don't need to match salaries."

This post it hilarious:
quote:

I want to repeat my thought earlier. This Front Office has shown more balls and aggressiveness in the past 36 hours than the previous front office did the last four years.

1. They committed to overpay Andre Iguodala 52-56 million dollars to fill a huge need at Small Forward
2. Then within a couple of hours pulled the deal off the table when they realized they were being punked.
3. Allowed Tyreke Evans to agree to the Pelican deal, not acquiescing to the "Reke" pressure to match or exceed a deal that they felt was grossly above market value.
4. And not to forget, pulled the trigger on a 20 year old whose draft stock was plummeting. Ben Mc was projected as 1, 2, 3, no lower than four.

It'll either be a second round pick or a minimal cap hold type player. Either way nothing of real value to either team.

I'd imagine that whatever Portland sends out will be going to Sacramento unless Demps ninjas them (Ninja please!).

It has to be to the Hornets... Why would Portland give the Kings a player/Pick .... We the one losing two players and the Kings are desperate because they know Evans wants to leave and they do not want to match Evans high offer from the Hornets. If the Trail Blazers are the 3rd team and they do give a player/Pick to the Kings then the Kings gotta give Portland something or what be the point of have a 3 team trade instead of the Kings getting Lopez an Grevis, then maybe trade Lopez to Portland

From one of their fans.....

what's a new orleans pelican? they changed the name? i just picture an oil covered pelican! that is hilarious, what a perfect name for a team near the gulf of mexico considering there is still horrible things happening leftover from the oil spill.
