Who starts at TE this season

Do we have a clear cut starter at this point? Les sometimes favors multiple TEs. A blocking and receiving. Although in recent years, we've gone away from using much of catching threat in the TEs. Cam Cameron comes in with a history of involving TEs in his offense. The options:
Travis Dickson, Jr. 6-4 230
Dickson played sparingly last year but in his lone start against Ole Miss, he was valuable catching 5 passes for 69 yards.
Dillon Gordon, So. 6-5 280
A big big boy. Joins Dickson as the only returning tight ends from last year. Played a lot of special teams in '12 but recorded no statistics. I don't know much about his hands but during recruitment, consensus was that he would probably end up on the o-line.
Logan Stokes, Jr. 6-5 253
First year at LSU after playing at JUCO. Probably profiles as mainly a blocker. He wasn't often targeted in juco, he caught 10 passes for 80 yards all season.
DeSean Smith, Fr. 6-4 226
The lightest of the group. At this point more of a WR playing tight end (a la D'lo Peterson) but he's got time to put on more weight. He was a 4 star recruit and one of the top TE in the class. A lot of people are excited about what he can bring to the offense buts its uncertain yet if he redshirts.

He's wayyyyy more polished at this point than Peterson was. Which doesn't say a whole lot I guess, because Peterson was about as raw as it gets. Nevertheless, I personally don't see any way we keep him off the field for a redshirt season.

Dickson starts IMO with Gordon and Stokes rotating as the #2 TE. DeSean Smith will be in on passing downs at TE or split out wide.

Who cares. Name one TE since Dickson in the BCS game versus Ohio St that has had a significant impact in a game.

He gained weight in the offseason. Claims to be 248 now. Which should mean he's at least 235-240 pounds

Smith will get the most snaps halfway through the season.
It's all about mismatches and each TE will get reps

I doubt Gordon is 280. He dropped that weight during fall camp last year.

Dickson gets the start
Desean Smith on obvious passing downs
Gordon/Stokes on goaline packages or obvious block situations

We're going vertical this season: Dickson and Smith at TE, 0 backs and 3 WRs: Beckham, Landry and Leslie.

I think it will be Stokes at TE and Dickson at H-back. Gordon backs up both positions and Smith plays a hybrid type of role.
I really hope Smith learns how to block because it would be impossible to stop the guy if you didn't know when a pass was coming.

from spring reports looks like cam likes gordons hands and blocking ability. He may be the "starter".
but i say all 4 play this year.

Unless Cam gets special Les permission it really doesn't matter who starts at TE this year or any year
LSU is so good we can lose 3 games and not use our TE's

I'm actually excited to see what this group can do.

I would like the starting TE to have the ability to catch the ball. You hear me CLM.
Is Dickson the only one that can catch?

Who cares, we under use the entire position anyways.
